On the eve of our first test series in Pakistan in over a decade we take you back to some vintage Sammy heroics vs Pakistan in 2011 where WI broke a long winless streak in Test Cricket:

Enjoy

Coley will not drop Dasilva and that one of the reasons he is yet to win a test series while coaching in that eh lacks the killer instinct.

if coley had dropped da silva, we would not have beaten australia at brisbane patnas. stop trying to deflect the incompetence of the top order on a batsman coming in at 7

I beg to differ, Coley has killer instincts. He kills West Indian fans spirit every time.

The only other wk on that tour was imlach……I’m guessing you’re assuming he’d have scored a hundred against the best pace attack in the world right…..on debut? Ironically the top four then was better than the morons we have now. At least McKenzie could hit the ball straight…..something Kraigg and de boy from st Kitts who get house and land before scoring one international run can’t do still

Allyuh know when Sammy the fraud took those wickets, Pakistan had already lost the top four for less than 10, rampaul taking three and roach taking one?

"Aks him" to articulate the long winless streak especially in comparison to others. Agk Edrich to compare Coley's short stint to others. It is not like shame is a commodity sold in store but yet...these guys wow!

These fellas dishonest yuh know. Inflating Sammy’s record while trying to denigrate the success Gayle and Sarwan’s teams achieved in less than three years. Sammy’s wins were flash in the pan wins. Gayle’s successes were building blocks which were gradually becoming something special. I bet you if we weren’t saddled with Sammy in 2012, we would have beaten Australia in that series.

Do elaborate. I just started judging him, since given selection duties. He is now fully accountable. But as usual peeps here blinded by insularity.

I am not Celebrating anything, I am stating that West Indies Test team, Needed a coaching change, When Sammy takes over, we will judge him. Let us hope, this is a farewell tour for Roach, Brathwaite, and Dasilver. They are not producing, Roach is needed for this tour, he should be kept as a mentor or bowling coach.

Bye bye Josh! You are actually championing a 24.76 average wicketkeeper batsman who is not even that special a keeper.

And? Dropping Josh not saving West Indies from playing Bangladesh, Zim and co in two years…..and to be honest that is where anyone of several dottie and bajan dominated sides that have been forced on West Indians in the last 15 years belong

Never stop you from championing

Junior Murray - 33 test matches, 22.79 batting average, 99 catches and 3 stumping

Or

Ridley Jacobs - 65 test matches, 28.31 batting average, 207 catches and 12 stumping.

BTW DaSilva - 33 test matches, 24.76 batting average, 121 catches and 6 stumpings

After 33 test matches, Ridley Jacobs averaged 27.95 with 120 catches and 4 stumpings

Given that they both have near identical stats wise in the wicketkeeping department at the same stage of their careers (Da Silva slightly higher than Jacobs), guess Ridley wasn’t that special a keeper either. Not to mention a marginally better batsman than DaSilva.

You forgot to mention that Ridley made his debut at he ripe old age of 31 cause somebody thought David Williams was better - 13.74 test ave after 11tests. Imagine if they had made use of Ridley's younger years like Josh is wasting. Guess who was on the other end as Lara made his 400*? Hint: It was not David Williams.

Ridley averaged 28.31, Dujon averaged 31.94. Chew on that for a minute. Look at the batting lineup Dujon compared to Ridley?

Ridley was the only batsman who stood up vs RSA in that ill -fated post-apartheid tour.

BTW Ridley came at a time when it was acceptable for a Wicketkeeper batsman to average in the 20's then 30's before Gilchrist changed all of that.

David Williams was mediocre a rank shithound. Ridley was a good cricketer considering his limitations physically, geographically and politically. Ridley's fc ave is 38.71 at a time when we had bowlers that were readily available to play.

Feast on that Music Man.
