Imlach is already a better keeper than Josh

Good on him

May be a blessing in disguise for DaSilva

His only pathway forward to the WI team would be as a specialist bat

Focusing on that may well prove to be to his benefit. He can bat.

I echo your sentiments, the catch this morning off Sinclair bowling, infused energy, and a killer killer instinct in the team, which I have not seen in. Time immemorial.

Can not agree more with you........

Silva rectify his technical flaws.....lbw & bowled....come back strong as frontline batter.. ..

Imlach.... keeping a tab on him since World Cup under-19...

Ran out Pant in the final.... absolute brilliant....tried same again in this test...

Good luck... with bat also...

If Imlach is such a good keeper, (I am not saying he is not), why is it that when Guyana is playing Savory is the keeper?

Jangoo has to be in this batting line up.

Josh was simply marking time as a keeper. He could have been a solution to the top order batting positions and now looks like the perfect time for him to go away and work and cement that role. He has made hundreds in test cricket.

Imalch is an interesting one. I have not seen much of his keeping since U19 and he seems to be a decent bat. I don’t however think his batting is as good as Jangoo’s but that is a personal opinion.

The reason why Savory was the keeper for Guyana last season was because Imlach was trying to allow his injured fingers to completely heal

Jangoo comes in the 2nd test......replaces anyone ...Carty, Greaves....

Louis, if fails in 2 nd inning....Silva comes in as opener...

Is there no one on the CWI staff to see DaSilva's glaring weakness of not moving that back leg only to be lbw almost like every inning.

Imach is probably one of the fittest cricketers in the WI so it's not surprising that he's moving better than Silva behind the stumps.

On his batting... I don't think he's better that Silva but he's around the team for a while so he deserves a few matches.

Eventually young Jewel Andrew will take that spot.

Jangoo keeping is not all of that but with his batting he could make the XI as a batsman.

The thing about wicket-keeping is that brilliant glovework and athletic catches are great, but you need someone who can concentrate for long periods and do the basics right, particularly in test cricket. I suggest a bit more run time and observation before we anoint keepers as great.

Nobody appointing anyone as great as far as I can see. Now sure where you get that from.

This is about as tough a debut for any keeper to make as any. And his movement, reflexes, positioning, etc were impressive. He took the chances that came his way. That’s all that can be expected of him.

But he went beyond that on this pitch, hence the comments.

Maybe as soon as next innings he’ll have a horror show.

Doesn’t change the fact that he has been impressive here so far and a noticeable positive difference from DaSilva.

Nobody proclaiming him to be Alan Knott incarnate. Simply congratulating him on his performance thus far on debut.

Well done to him.

Thank you very much! I for one thought that Carty would have succeeded in test cricket but he has had a rough time in his 5 tests to date. Anyway, we will see how the team does in the second inning. We are still in a position that there are 6 batting spots up for grabs on this team.
