My point is, as I’ve stated before is that these losses are the result of picking second string teams for the better part of 14 years. De idiots that ravaged the team and put Sammy and Holder as captains didn’t seem to anticipate that Gayle, bravo, Sarwan and co would get old and the players with actual talent like Pooran, Rutherford and Hetmeyer wouldn’t want to come near a West Indian test side based on the treatment of the former, so now you’re left with teams that are not only inexperienced with no competent senior to guide them as they have been for most of the past fourteen years but also they’re the least talented of the WI players on show because the Poorans, the Rutherfords and the Hetmeyers do not want to touch a WI test team. Enjoy tier 2 homes

You are ridiculous, Greaves has to play, Sinclair before carty and Louis. Greaves, and Sinclair are all rounders jangoo and imlach cannot play together now, maybe in the future.

Man enough of that foolishness. They chose to be freelancers simple. They opted to cherry pick tours and Cricket admin must settle for that? How does that lend to stability and growth?

R4D coming up so some new players will rise up. Right now our bowling is very competitive just for our batting to catch themselves which we are seeing some of that in ODIS. Who wants to freelance let them freelance but it should not be at the expense of the progression of WI Cricket which has been in stagnation for more than 2 decades.

We will work with what we have and if we have to end up in Tier 2 so be it.

Breds……you’re patently dishonest

Chris Gayle says he had written off IPL 2011 and was getting ready to resume international duties before being dropped from the West Indies team for the series against Pakistan. Gayle spoke to ESPNcricinfo on the eve of his second IPL game for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday.

"It was to be international cricket for me. Had I been picked, that would have been what I would have done," Gayle said. "I didn't have any thoughts about IPL4. I had written off IPL4, rather I was looking forward to its next year. I should have been there (in the West Indies) playing with the national team, but I am here. It is unfortunate but that is how it is."

As I said….enjoy tier 2 cricket and remember what got us here

"Struggled"? Which match did you look at?

The only time i used the word struggle was in the present tense referring to Hodge and it was not a reference to the last test, but to his customary batting style. Hence I used the word "struggles".

South Africa during that period was in the middle of an unbeaten run in test series that lasted 5 and a half years(starting in 2009 and ending in 2014)and comprised 14 series which is the joint 3rd longest run in test cricket history homes. That SA team was a great side

That is the plan. To put the Trinis in impossible positions matchwise so they fail. He should be in at 4/5.
From what I have seen on this top 7 is they are all suspect to spin. This pitch the Pakis were singing to the wind days now that it wll be a spinner's paradise. Did WI brass solidify their batting ? No. Jangoo and Josh are the ony 2 players that can effectively play spin and they were both left out.
I can assure you that they will miss the other test also. That has been the trend for many a year from this delusional CWI.

they've been doing that since ramdin. i told you this tier 2 system that's coming in is the result of poor decisions and outright malice and vindictiveness. CWI never forgave gayle, sarwan and bravo for standing up to them, not caring about the rapid degradation of the team and they've gotten what they deserve....humiliation...but some people in wi cricket don't care about that

Yes put the Trinis in impossible positions as they are unable to handle pressure.

Can you tell me where WI was ranked where the fab 3 were playing. By the way JoHo is a superior test cricketer to your fab player Bravo.

and dotties could barely make any WI team on merit..........if i'm not mistaken, Brian Lara, the man who played under the most pressure in the history of west indian cricket wasn't a bajan, or vincentian or antiguan or grenadian or any of the other dots that are present around the caribbean sea

If Jangoo is to come in, and I think that he should not, it must be for Carty or Hodge. I would actually bring in Roach for Greaves to add just that little more potency to the bowling as we know the batting is likely to flop. I would also go brave and consider bringing in Josh for Louis and let him open. We are at the stage where, after being dismissed twice in 60 overs, effectively in 2 sessions, that we can do anything. There is absolutely nothing to lose. My XI:
Brathwaite (agreed his final game as captain)
DaSilva
Imlach (because this is his position for Guyana so he should be comfortable)
Athanaze
Carty (this is where he made his debut in ODIs and has become fairly successful)
Jangoo
Sinclair
Motie
Roach
Warrican
Seales
