Abu Dhabi Knight Riders vs MI Emirates [ 8 windians]
Last time we played here, we batted first as well. As a group we keep emphasizing on doing the basics right and focussing on the process. Same team for us.
Narine:
We gonna bowl first. It is a new pitch, hopefully pick up early wickets and restrict them to as low as possible. We did very well in the powerplay, want to improve a bit during the middle overs. We are playing the same team.
Kusal Perera and Muhammad Waseem are at the crease.
Kusal Perera is on strike.
Willey will open the attack
0.4
Willey to Kusal Perera, FOUR, thumped down the ground. A bit too full from Willey and Perera's nailed that over mid-on with terrific timing

10.3
Ibrar Ahmad to Muhammad Waseem, out Bowled!! A wild slog from Muhammad Waseem and he failed to pick the change of pace there. It was an off--cutter on a length, turns and grips to beat the batter on the inside edge. Timber.

Kieron Pollard, right handed bat, comes to the crease
10.4
Ibrar Ahmad to Pollard, no run, yorker length just outside off
13.1
Ali Khan to Pooran, FOUR, bowls a toe-curshing yorker around off stump, Pooran nearly slipped up on his feet trying to jam it down. It caught the toe-edge and flew past the fielder at short third to his left. The fielder in the deep dives to his right, but ball wins the race
13.3
Ali Khan to Pollard, out Bowled!! Knocks him over with a beauty. Delivers another inswinging yorker and uproots the leg peg. The big man had no clue about that, tried to flick it off his pads and ended up playing all around it.

15.5
Ali Khan to Mousley, out Caught by Laurie Evans!! Ali Khan has his second and he is chuffed to bits. Bowls a slower full delivery outside off, Mousley forces the drive on the up but can't beat the infield. Evans dives full length to his left at mid-off and completes the catch with both hands.
Mousley c Laurie Evans b Ali Khan 6(7)
18.6
Holder to Shepherd, FOUR, 19 off the over. That was short enough outside off and Shepherd rocked back to muscle the pull to the right of long-on
18.5
Holder to Shepherd, FOUR, too full and wide of off, Shepherd opens the bat face and slices the drive past the diving left hand of Willey at backward point
18.3
Holder to Pooran, out Caught by Alishan Sharafu!! Holder has the last laugh. Pooran misses out on a well-deserved fifty. Was a slower ball bumper outside off, Pooran backs away and plays a half-hearted pull. It chips off the toe of the bat and goes to the right of the fielder at mid-off. Easy catch for Sharafu.
Pooran c Alishan Sharafu b Holder 49(26) [4s-5 6s-2]

Holder to Pooran, FOUR, very full just outside off, Pooran stays deep inside the crease and biffs it past back the bowler with brute power

1.1
Fazalhaq Farooqi to Gous, FOUR, edged and four! Length delivery slanting across outside off, Gous pushes at it and gets a thick outside edge that flies past slip and down to the third man ropes
3.5
Fazalhaq Farooqi to Mayers, out Mayers Run Out!! Mayers has to go! Slower length delivery on the pads, loud shout for lbw is turned down, it dribbles into the off-side and Mayers has to dive back into his ground as there's a direct-hit. Looked like he made his ground. Meanwhile Pooran decides to review, no bat involved and comfortably heading down leg, poor review. Hang on though, Mayers is in trouble with the run-out. The bat just bounced and lifted off the ground before making it over the line. Excellent throw and Mayers is very disappointed as he walks off.
Mayers run out (Mousley) 22(14) [6s-3]

Feels good, we knew how important this game was. Was relaxed because Pooran was there. Was just trying to get to the last over and seeing what I could get. Whenever you do good in one department it gives you confidence in the others. Still want to be a complete all-rounder that can bowl at any stage.
Nicholas Pooran:
Very happy. Great performance with both bat and ball. Really crucial to have that power-hitting down the order. Gives us that flexibility. Fielding is something we stressed on, really proud of the guys. Nice to see these guys taking catches and diving around. From the bowling aspect, everyone did their job.
Sunil Narine:
We were going good till the 18th over but we had to have a fielder in for the slow over-rate and Shepherd is a powerful player. It's hard to keep up with the over-rate with just one spinner. You wouldn't want those things (extras), it's something we have to look at and fix next game. We've been losing a cluster of wickets, still played good cricket, we started off good. Need to get on top of the key moments
