Pitch Report:
Nice beautiful morning in Multan, the fog we had during the first Test has disappeared. The same preparation on the pitch as the first one, the cracks are still here and it will turn. It will get drier and drier. The spinners can create good angles on this track to get the ball to grip and turn. It is going to be another tough challenge for the batters on this surface.

Why did Brathwaite allow Jangoo to go for the review? Wasn’t Brathwaite watching the ball?
That was dead plumb. Wasted a review.

It is difficulty to blame our batting with such an atrocious pitch. This is an awful match and series. To see how bad this is Pakistan with some truly exciting fastbowlers are not playing any and their batsmen are are posting subpar totals.

The physio is having a look at the fielder, the concussion protocol would follow, but the good news is that Hurraira looks OK, mighht've been a bit dazed though

Roach doesn't bother reviewing and West Indies have lost their 9th wicket. Five wickets for Noman and he performs the sajda. Nicely tossed up on middle and it straightened down the line, tad too full for the sweep and Roach missed it completely, struck adjacent to middle and it's an easy call for the umpire

Excellent diving catch by Kemar Roach but at a cost. He seems to have hurt his groin taking that one. Warrican finally in the wickets column as Pakistan lose their fifth wicket with 119 on the board, still trailing by 44 runs yet the key man Rizwan is still there on 43*

Fantastic delivery by Warrican deceives the well set Rizwan and the key man for the home side departs for 49, Pakistan now 130/6. Regulation stumping for Tevin Imlach, who makes no mistake.

Don't forget the contribution of the elder statesman Kemar Roach
He made a very useful 25, then sent both Pakistan openers back finishing the innings with 6-1-15-2. His catch to dismiss the well set Saud Shakeel, was also superbly taken. Unfortunately, it may have caused him a groin injury. We will have to see how he is tomorrow.

Just why Kraig had to stay in. More experienced. Understands how quickly any lead can all fade away. As far as I am concerned, Kraig Brathwaite career as a test cricketer should be over. 99 test matches with a 33 average. Probably the lowest average for an opener playing that number of test matches in 148 years of test cricket.

Warrican to Salman Agha, no run, Salman Agha is one lucky, lucky boy out here!! A flighted delivery onto off, induces Salman forward to defend only to beat his outside edge through to the keeper. It was as though the batter was unaware that he had lunges outside his crease to defend that, made no real effort to return back in a hurry. A long look from the third umpire for a stumping, but the back boot of Salman appears to be on the line, with certain angles suggesting a part of it could be within the crease. Third umpire rules in favour of the batter. A reprieve
An umpire review for stumping and this is very tight! Salman's back boot is on the line. Survives!!

Warrican to Salman Agha, out Lbw!! Jomel Warrican you beauty!! With his slow releases and harmless looking strides, he seems to be causing a lot of harm here to the hosts. He's struck once again and it is the prized wicket of Salman Agha! On a length and slides on with the arm. Pitches around off and beats the inside edge to strike the back thigh pad. In line with the stumps and would have crashed onto middle stump. Pakistan staring at a new nadir here is their cricket history!

Warrican to Rizwan, out Bowled!! Through the gate!! Crashes into the stumps and Rizwan hears the death rattle not only of his wicket, but probably of this match as well. A floated delivery onto off from Warrican, tempts Rizwan closer to defend and this time the ball doesn't spin. Slides on with the arm and keeps a tad low to penetrate between bat and pad and disturb the stumps. The crisis man of Pakistan is out and the crisis still persists for the hosts!

Motie to Noman Ali, out Caught by Warrican!! Six and OUT for Noman - he looks disappointed, but he didn't have a choice, came down the pitch to a well flighted delivery and drilled the drive once again, this time though it carried comfortably for mid-off - a stomach high catch and Warrican m,ade it look easy. Pakistan are nine down and are sinking in Multan.

Warrican to Sajid Khan, out Bowled!! The 34-year old jinx has been broken, West Indies have won a Test in Pakistan. It's a moment to savour for them, but they'll hope that this ain't one-off. Was a flatter delivery on off, Sajid pressed forward, stayed leg-side and then tried to dab it onto the off-side, getsan under-edge and the ball bounces onto the stumps.

WI win!
Warrican to Sajid Khan, OUT
bowled him, Warrican has five, and West Indies have pulled off an absolute miracle after being 38 for 7 on day one! Quick length ball close to off stump, turns less than expected, and Sajid, looking to push it square on the off side with an angled bat, inside-edges it into his stumps

This makes it all the more enjoyable for me. I believe that teams should always have a degree of advantage when playing at home, the green tops for England & New Zealand, pace and bounce in Australia & South Africa etc. but Pakistan have taken that theory to a whole new level. That they were beaten on such a spin friendly surface by the team renowned for being so fragile against spin...is utterly hilarious!

I don’t think they took it to a new level
England green tops and April Test matches aren’t in the same category?

Not quite but it is close. England in early spring is not nice conditions for players from the Caribbean, wrapped up in layers of sweaters, nor is this time of year in the Punjab though...cool mornings especially. These spin friendly tracks Pakistan has produced are too one sided against the batsmen, even though it makes for exciting viewing. Games over in two days or two days and an hour is not exactly ideal...yet better than a dull draw on a featherbed!

Poor selection for Kingston v Bangla probably cost us the 7th place. No one looked at the FC season and saw how Charles and Salmon performed at Sabina with the ball.
