In Pakistan.?
If you had to chose one of two bad ass series performances, which one would it be?

Warrican was stellar but I have to give it to Shamar!

Silly question.
Ozzie batsmen and team are ranked higher

So the Aussies would have done better than Pakistan on that spinning pitch?
Didn't that higher ranking team get their asses handed to them by a lesser ranking team?
What is your point again?

Dude. Spinners were always going to take a boatload of wickets on those pitches.
For that reason I rank Kraigg's second innings 50 a better performance than Warrican's bowling.
Shamar's performance on that entire tour of Oz was the stuff of legend. Especially on that final day when he wasn't even supposed to play because of the toe injury.

There you go with that BS.
Wouldn't a spinning pitch make the good spinners even better?
Why didn't Motie do better?
Just making a point, I actually like Motie.

Shamar, the world was glued in on the action.
Few people outside of WI and Pakistan even know there was a test series going on in Pakistan ....

Motie didn't take as many wickets as the other spinners took them.
Repeat. Spinners were always going to take wickets on those pitches. So it wasn't remarkable that Warrican was the spinner who took the most for the West Indies any more than it wasn't remarkable that Sajid Khan took the most for Pakistan.
I put more value on batting performances on tracks like we saw in Pak. You had world class batters like Babar Azam and Rizwan struggling to score on those wickets.

Bro. Shamar ripped out and decimated the heart of the Ozzie batting line up chasing a modest total and all with a broken toe.
The wicket wasn't a land mine like what we saw in Pak for the spinners. He just bowled with unrelenting pace, skill, and accuracy to wipe out the Ozzies on that final day.

Look, the guy didn't just take wickets, he dominated batsmen. More so than Sajid, Noman and Motie.

Let him dominate batsmen on not so friendly curry powder spinning tracks and then I may consider it somewhat on par with Shamar's performance.

Let him do it with a busted toe too... gotta be on something special to think Warrican performance is on par with what Shamar did in OZ.

I mentioned the busted toe. He showed up that morning of the Test match without his kit because he didn't expect to play.
I'm not knocking Warrican's performance by any means. But he just simply did what any Test class bowler was expected to do in those conditions.
Now, I recall seeing Shane Warne running through sides and bowling guys around their legs and turning the ball square on tracks where no other spinner was getting any significant turn. If Warrican can do that, then he would have my admiration.

Huge respect for Warrican however the Shamar final day is the stuff of legends.
I must have watched the final days highlights 100 times now and it never fails to bring joy to my heart and tears to my eyes.

If one were to ask, what would be more improbable??Warrican taking 5fer against Pakistan or Shamar doing likewise against Australia in his debut series?? I think the answer would be Shamar hands down! Plus Australia had a more formidable batting lineup!
I hardly think Warrican’s performance was as electrifying as Shamar’s, that it would be considered memorable!

Shamar by a country mile. However, that takes nothing at all away from Warrican's awesome performance in bowling the right lines and lengths all the way through to a batting team that was at least on paper much better than ours. But Shamar man. That bouncer to Steve Smith. Double golden ducks for Travis Head. that unrelenting pace for such a long period. That first ball wicket of one of the Fab Four of batting. You could not even make that up that story if you had tried.

No need for a long argument.
The Pakistan batsmen average barely over 40.
