PS. The downfall of the West will continue, unless we stop being 'stylish!' It has permeated nuff societies & it has to stop! Of course, there are exceptional women who can assert themselves & ascend to the helm.

Minister of Finance next
Finance Minister Colm Imbert took to social media to defend himself against the $2.6 billion understatement in the national accounts, highlighted by Auditor General Jaiwantee Ramdass, and instead placed the blame on public servants.Earlier this week, the Privy Council delivered its written judgment, ruling against the Minister of Finance and in favour of Auditor General Jaiwantee Ramdass in her judicial review case.
The situation could also impact Imbert’s candidacy for Diego Martin North/East in the upcoming general election, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Then PM Rowley

It was more of an administrative gaffe, whereby she signed off on some things that she should'nt have, basically she authorized a civilian govt spy agency to procure guns as military or police. It seems like an unwitting disconnect rather than malice . Seems like more of a distraction than anything else and Trinis aren't really faĺling for it .

i read that thing and thought it was either a mistake or a set up. it simply made no sense
thanks for clearing that up even though there is a remote chance that she did it and it is now being covered up by citing an error and her going off on mental stress.
tell me, why is there a need for a civilian spy agency?

I am following this story to see who else is on tow. The radical military church name keeps coming into all of this. Is it true they have high grade war weapons? There have also been reports that cash, USD, Canadian and TT currency of almost $2mil USD in total were found in her house?
I want to se if the any member of the 1% has a role in this.

Don't know the circumstances but the fact that they would lock up a commissioner of police, even mistakenly is a positive sign, in Jamaica the best we would get is sending the commissioner on leave!

“It’s important when an investigation is being conducted to act responsibly to ensure there is no disclosure of information to any person or any party that may or is likely to prejudice the ongoing investigation.
“It is important to ensure this from a legal context as that is an offence called tipping off.”
Asked what offences Harewood-Christopher was arrested on suspicion of, and what charges she could face, Ali said, “We are investigating the unlawful procurement of firearms and accessories, and that that will take us into the offence of misbehaviour in public office.”
He said, though, that may not be the only charge she will eventually face as the investigation is still ongoing.
“That will be subject to continued consultation with the Office of the DPP,” Ali said.

You not getting it bro.. her office approved it signed by her. The whole thing is really a technical fault that someone exploited mischeviously.
I mean any commissioner could have been tied up or misled in this, the agency was properly formed through legislation etc. And many Govt agencies have firearms, not limited to security, even energy and others..
And don't get me wrong I think she's a useless puppet..but just saying..

Bravs, I find this is a dangerous thing to say, and a virtual pass for anybody who is slack in future with their job.
Better standards must always be in the vision.

DPP orders Erla released without charges in weapons probe; investigations ongoing
more here
After spending close to three days in police custody and undergoing an unrelenting interrogation by junior officers, an emotional and visibly shaken Commissioner of Police (CoP) walked out of the St Clair Police Station a free woman last evening.
Offering a tremulous smile as she stood sandwiched between her legal team, Erla Harewood-Christopher clasped her hands and stood silently as the head of her legal team, Senior Counsel (SC) Pamela Elder addressed reporters.
Confirming no charges had been proffered against Harewood-Christopher and that this lack of evidence had led to her client’s eventual release around 5.30 pm, Elder said the top cop had endured the interrogation as a suspect.
Also released from custody around 4.15 pm yesterday after no charges were laid against him was the former director of the Strategic Services Agency (SSA) Major Roger Best, who was arrested last Thursday.
The two two were reportedly questioned in relation to the procurement of two high-powered sniper rifles for the SSA.
Admitting she had advised Harewood-Christopher against issuing a statement at this time, Elder referred to the debacle that began on January 30 and the subsequent events that followed, as “outrageous”
