Kemar, you have 4-5 pacers to work with.
Stay home and help Simmons, Matthew, Chemar and the U-19 youngsters.
Stay away from CWI at this time.

The Sir Everton Weekes Academy of Excellence has been around for 10 years or more, that academy needs fresh blood.
Kemar should be a good fit.
For all the Bajans that have been clamouring for youngsters, that is what will continue to happen when youngsters are selected after a few good scores.
So many young Bajans are playing for CCC and the academy and none of them seem to be showing any progress.

Pride and Eagle were playing a good game until the 2nd innings collops, pride bowled rally well 3rd day throw it all away, I thought a late 4th day would be good or even a draw,
it is important that these games go deep on 4th day that is the only way WI will improve in test cricket

Will Shai Hope return to the team?

This is the year for the pride to be serious about development, Wickham should be batting at #3, I am not a fan of Jair, and Simmons should be in the lineup.
Let us be honest, there is no role for Reifer at this time.

Due is only the first game, why don't you give them a chance to settle properly?

Raskil 2025-01-31 22:31:00

The bowlers didn’t target the stumps enough. They were waiting for the batsmen to follow the wide ball. Spinners included. They needed to adjust to within the fourth stump line I don’t think they bowled any bouncers today either.
Oh and that keeper can do better.
Pride can be a dangerous team if they make some adjustments.

I don't know which part of the region you are from but Barbados who I support and is the #1 fan, is used to winning, we have lost more titles in the last 20 years than the first 40.
We have also had more greats than the Windwards and Leewards combined, so as a fan I want to win.
Barbados has 23 titles and 1 shared, and Guyana has 12 titles and 1 shared.
My two favourite teams.
I don't mind losing to Guyana, but it should be competitive.

Well said.

It was very entertaining and competitive -

The Bowling was very pleasing by both sides and of course the initial batting.

Guyanas attack this morning really looked good and the result is self evident...cept to say...The Bajan Bats did not put up the expected resistance to show the level of maturity I was hoping to see.

Even how GT chased was very good- Well deserved victory.

I don't know how he does it, he has not played local cricket in Bim for maybe a decade, yet he is always ready when called upon to bowl.

I didn't comment at first, but I don't expect much from this pride side, it is on the unproven and inexperienced side of the tracks.
you have to mix experience with youth to get the best, all youth will result in demoralizing defeats hence this defeat
These days playing for Barbados and by extension the west indies is just a means to an end

Dude. West Indies plays maybe 6 test matches in a year. Of those 6 test matches, 80% of them finish in 3 days.

Doh carry on like he have this heavy workload & he doing something extraordinary.

Yup. Not to mention the Barbados team.

To the near total exclusion of players from the other 5 territories.

What's the purpose of CCC? Is it to give an extra set of Bajans a chance to play first class cricket?

That team doesn't serve a purpose... imagine you got young talents sitting at home whilst the Bajans getting an extra franchise to play a bunch of misfits.

I'm near sure Akeem Jordan got a franchise contract and he's playing for the CCC side.

I don't know of it makes a mockery of the franchise contract system or is a good thing for more players to get game time.

Yes why not they have the greatest history of any wi territory.and obviously people value them otherwhise they would not be so many bajans on different teams .around the region.cool
