If he was Marlon Nathaniel especially. Didn’t his teammate see Natty was a gangsta?

One may argue that that's a good thing.

MacGill was a mediocre player, whose claim to fame was his alcoholism.

He was never a star, although many Ozzies had high hopes that he would have been.

Stars bet more exposure when they fall.

MacGill was not a great or even close.

Was a good player kept out by Warne, got a run when Warne was suspended, he was good enough to be retained when Warne returned; still never got a clear picture of why he was sent home during the Caribbean tour.

From what I've heard he always had a problem with booze and he's been known to have a bit of a temper as well.

Cricketers are humans, they all make mistakes (some big ones too).

I recall Lara rating McGill very highly but went on to say that as good as he was, he would always give you a boundary ball every over.

And that was the difference between him and Warne.

Yep, interestingly I read somewhat most of the time that they played together he took more wkts than Warne

Just checked, 208, averaged almost 5wkts/test. That's something considering the attack had men like Pige, Dizzy, Shane. Even more surprising Cricinfo says of modern spinners he has the best S/R!

Not his teammate exactly. But a fellow Australian cricketer. Geoff Lawson played in the 80s and was thoroughly offensive to West Indian players
