.and don’t say that’s just fiction

I woke up couple nights ago and an American western movie was playing my TV. One of the actors said – I would just shoot the injun – the sheriff replied – that would be murder – the actor asked – you say killing an injun is murder? I just think of injuns as I think of a rattler or a bug, you just kill it…..that movie was made in 1966, just 59 years ago. Many of the people with that mentality are alive today….and don’t say that’s just fiction

Dats a type if country that all self respecting folk should stay clear of!
Lest they end up there and for some reason delusionally believe that they matter! That their opinion counts, that they feel they belong!

What relevance is this supposed to have? Was this film set in 1966 or a century before? Do you think the scriptwriter's intent was to endorse the sentiment or condemn it?
