Goolie out, despite scoring a century in the first match? Is this an embarrassment of riches or a potentially embarassingly stupid decision?

[b]Is that 200 partnership if so well done to Josh and Jase.[b]
TT must try to get 500 or close enough 450 at best because LI have the batting to match anybody, and what a bonus they have in J.Andrew.
In reply to granite
Indeed. We need to big up JaMo. He just pulled a Justin Greaves in red ball cricket. I have been trying to follow on youtube while working as this is the most competitive match on paper in this round. I am looking forward to seeing Seales and the TT bowlers on this pitch. It is a pity that the momentum had to be broken or TT may well have been close to 380 for the day and looking for 500 with Cariah, Pierre and James still to come.

I don't want to say it but I will,we look like the best team this year,we have 6 bowlers and all can bat too, the bowling variety is good it keeps batsmen on their toes.I am also looking forward to seeing how Jewel Andrews treat our bowlers.I really do feel for JMo because he was never given a good run in West Indian colours, some are presently getting longish runs and failing, why not try the "ole man".
In reply to Yardman_83
Aljo most economical of all the bowlers 13 overs 0/29. The wickets will come. Trinis would have had 426 already if we had played Oshame.
In reply to PalsofMine
Well it was a good toss to win as Warner park has not changed. It is a batsman's paradise. We had TNT 114/3 and failed to capitalize. We have the batting to fight back so we will see.

AlJo has been unusually economical. Is it that he was firing it wide of the leg side or was he bowling deliveries that had to be respected? I was trying to look but was also working. This is probably, on paper, the strongest TT team probably since the Joey Carew team of the early 1970s. To think that they can drop a centurion and yet be 300 plus for 3 says a lot. Well done Coach Emrit and am happy for Josh in particular that he is keeping his name in the running for the WI squad. Nothing helps like a captain leading from the front. I only hope that Jangoo is not getting overconfident. It is wonderful to see any WI batsman retaining form for a 12 month period.
Tons fi both a dem.

he bowled pretty decently.....but j mo is usually sedate and dependable and da silva finally wake up and realize imlach is a real threat to his place so he wasn't taking any risks at all
Tante Merle and VOR, thank you.
Gwaan Joshua, show them that they can't keep a good man down.
Anyway, VOR might still come in and say that he was only beating up on Oshane, so this show doesn't count for much.
Listen right. Rain saving Leewarda. I can tell you. The amount of rain we get in past few days probably more than whole of January.
Anyway sun might show itself this afternoon but not this morning
Pitch not properly protected from potential water infiltration. Could cause some problems for batters.

I’m glad America has 4 day work weeks so I could watch cricket all day today.
Despite only 3 wickets lost by LIV, this was a good battle between the teams.
The T&T bowling was good - 3 wickets but the fielding and catching was horrible (lots of midfields and 5 dropped catches).
The opening partnership between Louis and Henry was refreshing to see.
The pitch is not offering anything to the bowlers but Cariah stood head and shoulders above everyone with his line and length. He could easily had a 5-for albeit for the multiple drops.
I tuned back in just to see Jewel hit that final ball of the day. Gotta love a man who hits a ball that deserves to be hit no matter what. He should ton up tomorrow with some luck. Goolie has to be the unluckiest cricketer in the Caribbean to have lost out on batting on that pitch, but then I suspect he already knows that.
In reply to Prako
Was looking at Cariah bowl and he had a lot of control for a leg spinner. Good for him. On a pitch with some bounce and a decent keeper he would definitely be a threat
They playing this match on a road? A whole heap of runs scored so far.
In reply to PalsofMine
Takes some audaciousness to hit the last ball of the day for 6. Remember Lara/ Robin Petersen when he took him a part in the final over of the day's play?

Not sure how Bryan Charles made this T&T team. He continues to be poor
Hayden Walsh plays a reverse sweep straight to slip to give Cariah his 5th wicket.
What a brainless piece of batting by Walsh.

How many overs left in the match,is it possible that TT can get 120 and LI having to make 220 or so to win in 20 overs,I suppose Josh will have to declare if he brave enough.

True... the great Oshane would have had all of them running. Pace like fyah!
In reply to Prako
BS. Yaadies run things when it comes to slangs.
In reply to budhead
Ever the delusional. One pacer took wickets on this pitch and these are all West Indian pacers: Seales, Phillip and Aljo. Guess who.
Congrats to Josh who did the immortal on a flat-track. That is how you do it! Cash in when the pitch favours you.
In reply to voiceofreason
If we are to be realistic, that 4th century meant nothing in the context of the game and years from now, those looking at statistics will say wow!!!
Josh should try to make the team as a specialist batter- and he has a long way to go, but his glove work in not up to par.
In reply to Emir
That's why statitics don't tell you the whole story.
In reply to Emir
In reply to Emir
he will get better as a keeper; his batting is good enough for a keeper but can't stand by itself.
In reply to Emir
Agreed that the 4th century was purely academic as there was only one result possible at the time: A draw. Also his glove-work is not the best and maybe he should focus on his batting. I just believe he will always be a LBW candidate on a more helpful track.
