JASON Mohammed, 38, cannot do anything wrong at the moment. He cracked his third consecutive century to start the West Indies Four-Day Championship season to put TT Red Force in control of their third-round match against Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the end of day one on February 12 at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts.

Mohammed, the leading run scorer in the tournament, struck 176 in the opening round against Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.

In the next round, he lashed 103 versus the Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Arnos Vale Playing Field in St Vincent.

Currently 204*at Warner Park, Basseterre against LI Hurricanes

I wonder what de selection committee will do if he scores a century each match.

I watch some of his last two centuries,
he looks solid.

At 38 I don't know. His overall average is 32. Too much of a risk for me but Sammy is a risk-taker.

He (Drakes ) never lived up to his u19 promise, Boucher was one of the best youth players in Bim but never fullful his promising youth expectation.

Daren Ganga must be blue vex

Ganga wrote on Facebook, “Trinidad and Tobago National Cricket Selectors, please explain to me and the national public why Jason Mohammed continues to play FC cricket for our country.”

He went further in the post, “This guy has played in the FC format since 2006 (17 years) and Averages 29 at a batter and at the age of 36-37 still features in our national squad? Come on, we need to offer more chances to younger talented cricketers who have a future in playing for West Indies !!!!”

Jason Mohammed has been scoring runs for the last 4-years, my brother Imusic is too ashamed to show his face.

Last year he scored 443 runs 2 tons highest 157, with an average of 44.30.

I like Ganga, one of my favourite cricketers from T&T, as the captain of T&T he went by the rules, no favouritism, but he is wrong about Jason Mahommed.
He is among the three leading run scores in the last 3-4 years.
Every year I follow him, because of my brother Imusic, who believes one loses muscle memory at 30 years.

Always a solid player regionally, i remember his performances one season in which he also batted Guyana out of a game. Happy when he was selected for Windies in ODI I think, but didnt have much to write home about. Maybe another Devon Smith but deserves respect at this level.

Red Force monitoring injury to in-form batter

The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force are top of the West Indies Four-Day Championship. But the camp will spend an anxious two weeks, monitoring the fitness of Jason Mohammed
Veteran Mohammed has been the outstanding batter so far in the competition, and a key contributor to the Red Force’s two victories and first innings points success in their three matches, with 483 runs and three centuries in as many innings.
However, head coach Rayad Emrit has confirmed that Mohammed picked up what he described as a “slight” groin injury in the team’s last match against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes which ended in a draw, Saturday, in St Kitts.

The Red Force will resume against the West Indies Academy in Antigua from March 5 and then travel to Barbados to face the Pride from March 12.

Jason Mohammed is there as a role player. One of the reasons for WI's decline was the lack of keeping the legends around the dressing room. I think Jason Mohammed became more productive when he stopped thinking about doing well and just enjoyed his batting. since he retired from international cricket, he stopped hearing the voices and just doing his thing.

I think the loud and many times harsh negative comments made about our cricketers make them so nervous about failing that they do not play positively and do exactly what they are trying to avoid. Ja Mo has been freed from that.
