Welcome Back Mikyle Louis
In reply to TanteMerle
Agree - big up
Good to see, needs to recapture that form and confidence.
In reply to TanteMerle
Yes indeed! Good to see him catch himself, albeit at home in batting friendly conditions. Hopefully he can build on this.
Think 150 plus Mikyle!

Louis is back in the pack fighting for a spot. His knock today helps his cause. There should be no sure batting picks presently.
First, I am really happy for Mikyle that he made some runs especially at home. Second, I do not have him in my test squad (far less side) because the man has just come off of a year showing that he is not ready for test cricket. Does a good score on the flattest wicket anyone has seen in years change that??? Not for me. Third, does no one learn the lesson from what happened last year with Mikyle???? Fourth, I am concerned that Mikyle may well be the youngest regional bully ever!
Congrats to Louis, but from observation, he needs to tighten up his game around off-stump, however if he scores another century, he most likely will retain his place in the WI team
The remaining rounds will debate who gets to open against Australia in that all important first test at Kensington Oval, Barbados in late June. Australia will have just finished their World Test Championship final at Lords against South Africa, so they will be battle hardened and no doubt, up for the fight. The West Indies will need to be equal to the task, a tough ask for a side that has just finished at the wrong end of their recently concluded WTC cycle.
Louis, current partner of the captain Kraigg Brathwaite, will no doubt be in the running but others, such as Campbell, who was mentioned above, will be trying to stake their claim. A few of the younger options looking to put their names in the hat are Henry (Leewards), Cooper (T&T) and Nandu (Guyana). Others may join the list as there remains, plenty of cricket to be played.
The middle order is arguably even harder to sort out at this stage!
Sorry, I am not reading anything but flat pitch from this match. Glad for those who took advantage to pad their stats

I don’t know if the people congratulating Louis here were just reading scores in the newspapers or actually watched the match?
The 1st 50 runs was ok for a Test batsman but the 2nd 50 was poor.
2 easy dropped catches and many false shots. Then “batsmanship” was poor in how he got out while still leaving a junior player short of a century.
As a Test, and senior, batsman in the partnership, his job was more than scoring runs - it was reading game situation and guiding Henry to the hundred.
Henry did score a hundred but he struggled a lot during his last 20 runs and had 2 dropped catches as well.
If we look at scores - yes congrats to Louis.
If we look at batsmanship - it wasn’t good for a Test batsman.
In reply to Prako Josh looked better?
Need to prepare flat tracks like these for the Aussies.
