is something that if we do not adopt, can lead us to gravely misunderstanding issues that confront us daily, and cause us to make bad decisions, and give bad advice. When some of us called out Donald Trump, and even campaigned against him, it was because we knew he would do exactly what he is doing now. I mentioned a West Indian politician who once stated that "when the USA sneezes, the rest of the world catches pneumonia." Right now, the symptoms are already spreading like a bush fire out of control. The Caribbean would be affected in may ways, but that is a subject for separate analysis.
Even as we oppose Trump on one the hand, the sophisticated must be cognizant that what is going on in Gaza, and Biden's support for Israel, is USA foreign policy. Joe Biden just happened to be the one at the helm, but whether it was Biden, Obama, Kamala, Bush or Clinton, the response would have been the same, because to them, it is USA policy. I oppose such policies, but in an election, we have to be able to separate those 2 issues, or we will end up with Trump. What amazes me is how easily Trump could make empty promises to the Palestinians, and the groups, and their leaders believe that shit, and encourage their members to vote for Trump.
Since the bombing of October 7, 2023, those who understand the politics would have sensed that this could affect the USA elections, against the Democrats. Biden was compelled to carry out USA policy in the Middle East. Biden, like all other President would've done, was not doing it for Netanyahu. Netanyahu knew that the Democrats backs were against the wall, and they must give support, no matter his abuse and excessive destruction of Gaza. In a different time, outside of an election cycle, they might have been able to contain Netanyahu, but he understood how trapped Biden and Kamala were, and he acted to assist their demise, because he wanted Trump in office, and it worked, because the average voter is not so sophisticated to figure out these things.
Netanyahu did not put Biden under the bus, because he was never on the bus with Biden. And, Biden did not expect Netanyahu to stand with him, because he knew what Netanyahu was all about. Netanyahu was exploiting a situation for himself, Biden was bound by USA policy toward Israel, no matter how bad it looked. If Biden refused to give support to Israel, the fall out would be worst for him and democrats. Biden withholding grants to one native cause who expressed support for Palestine, has responded like all other USA Presidents would, because it is USA policy.
This is a difficult piece to write, because it could easily be misunderstood, and some could think that I support USA policies. I do not, I could never support that massacre in Palestine; I could never be anti native people. I am just highlighting how strategic analysis is required when dealing with politics and voting. How many people are aware that a lot of Trump's attacks on Canada is to derail Justin Trudeau and the party that he represents? Waiting in the wing is a Trumplike Conservative, Poilievre. It could backfire, but that is part of the intent.
I, a black man, never expected Obama to do all the things that i hear is condemned for, for not doing for black folks. That is USA; he could not. The politics is more complex than that.
