After three rounds there are a couple of non impact players on this Redforce team. Anderson Phillips and Brian Charles. Is the playing eleven going forward remain the same or will there be changes?
Also playing on these pitches in the region doesn't help WI cricket at all going forward. Something needs to be done sooner rather than later.

Good morning and a pleasant Sunday to you. I absolutely agree with your take on the pitches. Am not taking anything away from the batsmen who have feasted in the Super friendly batting conditions which have been a graveyard for bowlers. Once you have the temperament to play each delivery on merit and you love to bat, you almost have to try really hard to get yourself out. The batsmen who have not gotten scores in these conditions need to really examine their games. I really do feel for the bowlers who have had to toil on pitches that offer nothing.

The stupid change in balls for the competition also assist batsmen.
I give up on out curators. They cannot prepare pitches.
Either to batsmen friendly, or too spin friendly.
We need faster pitches.
Make our batsmen learn to face real pace bowling.
Then we play international pacers and cannot hook or pull.
I wonder if this is the effect of the pitches from the T20 world cup. We have gone from spinning pitches to batting pitches. But on the other hand, it is fair to say that at least we are seeing the spinners who can really bowl in the region and so far Pierre and Cariah have been the standouts.

Its been purely guesswork for donkey years. These groudmen never know what type of pitch they prepare.
Many grounds are privately owned by clubs who employ their groundsmen.
For FC and international cricket these usually poorly paid groundmen need formal training.
Do we have any cricket pitch curators program? If not, I am sure UWI can develop a program for CWI.
The pitch curator's job is a different ball game these days

Good observation!
Can't be too harsh on Philips the pitches he played on so far were roads or got something for the spinners.
The concern should be Charles, he shouldn't be struggling to take wickets in these conditions and against a bunch of fellas that can't bat anything that could pass for spin.

Last year as well Charles was slow out of the blocks and then caught up in the final couple rounds. Pierre and Cariah are bowling so well, Charles must be finding it difficult even to get in some overs to get his rhythm going.

You are basing this on what? because as far as I recall, only this 3rd round of games did not have outright winners... it means teams were able to get 20 wickets.

Phillips is out of form. went on tours but got no game, so he was just sitting. he has to rediscover form now. I do hope that a coach can coach that left head tilt on delivery. it is very pronounced, and it does two things
1. it takes pace out because his head and momentum are not going forward and
2, it causes him to frequently angle the ball down the leg to the righthander.

This is great stuff Narps
Listen, UWI have no resources for basics. There isn’t a full time botanist on staff. Imagine that.
