Always forget that you are a Knoxite. What powerhouse you talking about big grin big grin big grin

Muschette - Jones - DaCosta - Melville, Campbell, Smith and Morgan are the only Knox winners at Champs that I can recall.

mighty mighty knoxite. smile so yes, Jon Jones, Paul Melville, i know. I am not sure who "Morgan " is. probably before my time. But i will use this opportunity to brag. We had one other winner. Christopher Smith. He won the 200 class one in 1987. His nickname was "fu lu lups" .

He, Barrington Campbell (aka Washee) and Rohan Walker gave Knox our moment in the sun. I think Knox had 20 points at Champs that year. Washee eventually went to Vere .

Let me drop some knowledge on you for the College:

Raymond Muschette - won Shot in the 50's
Everton "Sugar" DaCosta THE GREAT - what a talent won Class 2 800m equalling the record then went to CC and was part of their mighty program in the mid-70s onwards.
Carlington Morgan - won 400/800 double.
How could I forget "Fullulups" Smith won double in 1983 and 200m in 1987. Only Jones won more Champs gold than he did.

EDIT -
I know "Washy" quite well. "Fullulups" very decent kid. Was Howard "Ram" with that batch? I am almost sure he was.
Knox had a few stars before your time. Ask the elders about "Sugar", Bobby Anderson, Steele, and Shirley Campbell.

wow you schooling me for sure, thanks. Howard "Ram" samugh was about 2 or 3 years younger than that batch. He was very good at the 400. Another decent guy, just like Washee.

"Ram" went on the STETHS, his dad was in that parish if I recall properly. "Bobby" Anderson's father Pat, was JFF/JAAA President. Steele what a talent? Made Champs 100m finals when Bally Reid (KC) and Everad Samuels (STATHS) were kings of the sprinting roost. He was also an outstanding footballer at the school and Kirkvine where DaCosta also played.
Jones and DaCosta were the two best (then Steele) to come out of Knox.

EDIT -
On the female side, in the 60's Drummond (discus); Woodburn (long jump) and 70's Reid (800) were winners. Shirley Campbell was a top sprinter battling Olympic 200m finalist Rosie Allwood and Olympian Debbie Byfield to a sprint photo-finish. Shirley could have been an Olympic medalist.

That's it, any more knowledge comes with a fee big grin big grin big grin and NO, I did not attend the school.
