Well, her show is being cancelled. It might be a move by MSNBC to soften up their rhetoric concerning the present administration. Mainstream media in America could be becoming the lame-stream media

I am a Joy Reid fan. What Joy’s show did was to unabashedly and unapologetically give voice to the concerns of Black Americans.

Before Barack Obama’s presidency there were few black faces and voices to shed a light on black issues as seen and felt by Black Americans.

Discussing such issues made many people uncomfortable, even among some Blacks, so unaccustomed to having their concerns dealt with so openly, and for White Americans having their racism pushed into their faces.

For the latter, the Right started to complain that discussions of such issues made their little Johnny and Mary uncomfortable and riddled with guilt, and they started the great backlash, using the slogan Make America Great Again, as their rallying cry to return to and ensure that America is about and for White Americans.

At this time, more than ever we need voices like Joy Reid’s, but who pays the Piper calls the tune. But don't worry, Joy will find her feet somewhere in the great social media ecosystem, where the real action is.

Totally agree with you. she is a New York Times best selling author, her latest: Medgar and Myrlie Evers Love Story.
when it was time for college It was Harvard that came looking for Joy, not the other way around.

And yet she had to drive Harvard’s shuttle to make ends meet but those fortunate to be born with gold spoon in mouth would have her shut up and make coin rather than advocate for others. Heck, they even convince the BestD,s of this world to join them in keeping dung dih unfortunate

that is the reality on being on a non independant network they have owners and investors who are politically connected i'm sure she can start her own youtube podcast show like the lovely angela rye , roland martin ,and lot of others where she can freely discuss her true opinions without fear and make money

Joy replaced Chris Matthews in the 7pm hour when he was fired. She used to work the weekends before replacing Matthews so unless she had replaced Mellisa-Harris Perry on the week-end programming I am not sure where you get this from.

I am not sure how much Morning Joe ratings cratered when he went to kiss the ring at Mar-La-go but it took a big hit and they are still on the air but they are canning Joy. But again, Morning Joe is a white Republican and he wife still living off her dads reputation so again that might fit better within the portrait of America that works for a certain administration. See this weekend Hog$hit demoted the black joint chief of staff, saying he is DEI hire. Meanwhile he is more qualified than Hog$hit.

Are you boycotting everyone that had cordial dealings with Trump post election?
Or only echo-chamber journalists?

Yep, and progressives are facing the brunt of it.

Joy is immensely proud of her Guyanese/West Indian heritage and her Brooklyn West Indian culture.

I sense a disturbance in the echo-chamber!

MSNBC has told the majority of the employees who produce Rachel Maddow and Joy Reid’s prime-time evening news shows they are being let go as part of the network’s programming overhaul

On Monday night, Maddow appeared to criticize MSNBC for the recent programming shake-ups and the treatment of its staff during a monologue on her show.
