This evening I will be playing “Killing me softly with his song" and “The first time ever I saw your face” in honor of Roberta Flack. Her legacy will live on through those songs.

In reply to DukeStreet A brilliant woman with a fabulous voice. She graduated from Howard at 19.
"Iceman" now Roberta Flack. "Killing Me Softly" a time-honored classic.
RIP

RIP Roberta. Fantastic pipes. Roberta and Hathaway duets were classic love ballads.
Is it known Roberta lived with her Bajan boyfriend for quite a few years?

Rumor has it Roberta fell for a Bajan guy ' a horse groom' on a beach in Bim and he was the inspiration for her mega hit 'Tonight I celebrate my love' ( Stella got her groove back redux) This rumor is subject to correction
