Tonight members of CARICOM paid tribute and bade farewell to Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Keith Rowley who announced his retirement from representational politics after years dedicated service to the o the people of Trinidad and Tobago and to CARICOM.

Prime Minister Rowley took office in 2015, with a focus on resilient leadership and national development. He has guided Trinidad and Tobago through economic challenges, global crises, and national advancements, always prioritizing the well-being of his people.

As he steps away from representational politics, we salute his service and wish him all the best in this new chapter.

All the best my friend and I believe we will continue to enjoy a strong relationship.

What has he done for T&T? Over 30 years in politics.

A patholigical liar that never fulfilled his promises.

A professor asked him to show us his bank account over the last 10 years.
He cusses the man.

A fcking loser of grief that invaded T&T.twisted

It was a beautiful and moving tribute. Rowley as an elder statesman will be missed.

His calm demeanor, his unvarnished way of communicating and his ability to block outside noise was necessary. But most of all, his courage in making some of the most difficult and consequential policy prescriptions will go down in history.

He is the first PM to take on the corrupted civil service trade unions and he did damage them. His decision with Petrotrin was praised by the world's finest analysts- thought it caused some short term pain, but it was necessary. He was not afraid to make very unpopular policy decisions, some of which rattled some Trinis who love their freeness.

His shortcoming was his disdain for constitutional change hampered his ability to arrest the crime situation and he didn't push hard enough to dismantle the education system.

The worry now is the country will be losing their leader and with the intellectual bankruptcy of the main opposition party. I wish he would have styed on for another couple years.

You must be joking. Read this article:

T&T in fear and despair

Yet, while the nation suffers, Caricom leaders are seen paying glowing tribute to Rowley at the recent Caricom Heads of Government meeting. But what exactly are they praising? A prime minister who has presided over one of the most violent period in our nation’s history? Rowley may enjoy international recognition, but back home, the people are drowning in crime, poverty, and hopelessness. The murders of Ansel and Anicia James are not isolated incidents. They are part of a much larger pattern of failure by the Rowley administration. Every citizen who is murdered, every criminal who walks free, and every family that lives in fear is a direct result of the PNM’s incompetence. The blood of these victims, and so many others, is on their hands.Just late last year, both siblings appeared on Crime Watch after Ansel was struck by a vehicle in Maturita, Arima. That was a clear warning sign that their lives were in danger, yet the authorities failed to act. Now, both he and his sister have been executed in cold blood. Where was the protection? What happened to the intelligence-driven policing that this administration loves to boast about? Stuart Young and the entire PNM Government have done nothing but talk while blood runs through our streets.

The brutal murders of siblings Ansel Curtis James and Anicia James, along with her husband, at Dump Road, Arima, on Saturday night are yet another tragic reminder of the complete failure of the Keith Rowley-led PNM Government. Under Rowley’s leadership, crime has spiralled out of control, leaving citizens to fend for themselves in a country where lawlessness reigns. But crime is not the only crisis under this administration. While people struggle to survive in fear, the Government is busy covering up financial scandals. Tens of millions are understated in the Auditor General’s report, yet no one has been held accountable. The PNM’s priorities have never been about the people—only about protecting themselves and their corrupt associates.

The closure of Petrotrin was another disastrous decision that has deepened the country’s economic suffering. Thousands of jobs were lost, and the economy continues to decline, leaving families in financial despair. Instead of improving efficiency, the shutdown of Petrotrin has resulted in sky-rocketing fuel prices and increased hardship. Unemployment is at alarming levels, and poverty is pushing many young men into the hands of criminals. The government refuses to acknowledge the direct link between their economic failures and the rise in crime.Trinidad and Tobago deserves better. How many more innocent lives must be lost before the people demand real change? The PNM Government has failed at every level, and the time has come for the nation to wake up and say enough is enough.

PM Manning summarized Rowley in a debate in Parliament. You should read what he said.

Engaging with a specific point requires critical thinking, knowledge of the subject, and the ability to articulate counterarguments effectively.
In contrast, discrediting someone can serve as a rhetorical shortcut that avoids the need for substantive debate.

Obloquying someone often relies on personal attacks or undermining their credibility rather than engaging with the actual argument.
This approach can be more accessible because it shifts the focus away from the topic at hand, allowing one to sidestep complex discussions.

Almost 5,000 people were murdered during his tenure; he is being called "the PM of Grief." ( tm Professor Cudjoe)

Comments have no effect on me, especially the ones on this thread.cool
