Yes, WI can beat Afghanistan in all 3 formats if the best players actually play together.

Afghanistan pulls together as a team. It is their team spirit which makes them much stronger than they are as individual players. West Indies has equally talented players if not more but the team spirit is weaker hence the poorer results. Best players don't even play for the team. How can you get the results if they don't?

they're still crap at tests but i anticipate if they can organize a fc system, as rudimentary as it is, they could beat us

We beat them at the T20 World Cup

No reason why we couldn’t do so again…..in any format….no matter how many matches

One off? Talent apart it seems their players both understand their game and individual roles in the team better than ours.

Why was Afganistan singled out? The same question can be asked of any team/country and the answer would be the same. No. We could not beat them in a 3 match series. Regardless of the so-called stars being in the team. West Indies players lack consistency which probably means a lack of commitment, pride and fitness. They make runs today and fail for the next two matches. The same with the bowling.
Fix that and ask the question then.

So how to explain WI beating Bangladesh 3-0 in the most recent ODI series, beating England 2-1 in the recent ODI series in the Caribbean, or beating India 3-2 in the T20 series in 2023?

Yes, the WI can beat Afghan in a 3-match series, especially if it is played in the WI at Kensington, Sabina Park or Sammy ground. The WI ODI team is their best XI and the Test team has their best bowling combination, so I favor their chances.

Afghanistan team play together year round so they have a very cohesive unit. I think that if we had a constant 15 man unit playing year round then we would be much tougher to beat

Afghanistan is a team, which is being promoted at the world stage by India lead sub continent teams, i.e. Pakistan, Bangladesh...

Since, Afghanistan playing top level white ball cricket....it has home ground in India....played almost all cricket in sub continent.....against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe,UAE....gain lots of ODI points...

No series against England, Australia,New Zealand, even India or Pakistan.... although Afghanistan cricket is India based...

As far as West Indies....only time West Indies played ODI series against Afghanistan was in India...winning 3-0.....
Afghanistan is totally spin oriented team...their batters and spinners faltered badly, when they played outside sub continent....in world events... examples..in Australia and England...

West Indies is badly managed team.....whereas, Afghanistan is brilliantly managed and sponsored by only super power of cricket....
