South Africa and Australia, both part of Group B in the Champions Trophy, will train at the ICC Academy in Dubai ahead of their semifinals matches, whether or not they will play their last-four game in Dubai. The first semifinal will be played in Dubai on Tuesday (March 4) and the second semifinal on the following day in Lahore

The decision was taken by the International Cricket Council (ICC), considering the current status of Group A in which the order of finishing positions of teams will only be determined at the conclusion of the ongoing match between India and New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DIC).

Train in Dubai—That’s a nice way to frame it.

The fact is that both teams were forced to fly to Dubai because they did not want to wait until the conclusion of the India-NZ game to find out who will be playing India.

So for the whole tournament, India is staying at the same hotel and playing at the same grounds. The other teams—not so lucky.

Now I am not blaming India for this. I fully agree with their decision not to go to Pakistan. The security services in Pakistan cannot be trusted. Pakistan should not be hosting this tournament.

Rubbish. There has only been one issue through the entire tournament….one pitch invader, which has happened in countries like Australia with far more resources. Every major test playing side has gone to Pakistan and toured and have had no problems….SA has gone twice, England twice, Australia once, WI twice, Bangladesh once(even given the history between Bangladesh and Pakistan), NZ once. Pakistan is very safe for cricket

Once again and as expected…you just totally missed the point.

Is Pakistan safe for everyone? There are major groups/parties in Pakistan that want to kill Indians. You forgot the Mumbai attacks? The Indian authorities identified the perpetrators, yet Pakistan claimed that they cannot find them. And the Indians are expected to depend on these people for their own safety?

Like them or hate them—the fact is that the Indian team is the biggest draw in world cricket. Why have a tournament in a country where your biggest draw cannot participate. Pakistan wants to see world cricket? Fine, have bilateral tours. But they should not be hosting a world tournament.

Quite true,..

India is very concerned about the safety of its players.

20/20 World Cup match at Kensington Oval, India Vs Afghanistan. There was at least one Indian security personnel along the boundary line shadowing Kohli while he was in the outfield

still rubbish. india says its not safe to visit pakistan. ironically the only ever act of violence tha took place while india and pakistan were playing was when hindu fanatics dug up the delhi pitch right before the first test of the 99 series and also threatened to poison the players. India has visited Pakistan twice since then and nothing happened. India even won a test series in pakistan and again nothing happened, nothing like when the kolkata crowd at eden gardens rioted inside the stadium and forced clive lloyd as match referee to abandon the game and award Sri Lanka the semifinal. Xi Jinping visited pakistan in 2015.....is the indian cricket team more important than the premiere f China? India did not even want to play pakistan in bilateral series in dubai or some other neutral territory in the aftermath of the 2009 bus attack. Just a bunch of entitled man children that still can't dominate cricket despite having the lion's share of resources.

Bro
Doh waste your time with them Modi disciples!

Gavaskar, Ravi and others tried hard to get this Modi terror administration to permit Kohli and his boys to travel.

The Indian team is embarrassed with this advantage they didn’t ask for it and they don’t need it as they are playing some solid cricket.
