Got to take stock of the language. He is actually putting himself back in charge of the process by saying that "he is ready" not the US, not Russia negotiating and him on the sideline and Donald Trump trying to rob him. Notice that the British also reiterated that a minerals deal by itself is not enough. So it seems he is playing what few cards he has to put himself at the table.
