Is he a contender for the West Indies test team

I do not want to hear anything about pass record.

Last season.
1 Game with a ton and 10 wickets.

This season so far:
1st game: a 5-fa and century so far.

The test squad should not be automatic.
All p-layers should have a chance

That includes: -
Chase.
Jason Mohammed.

The yutes in the squad to inconsistent.
A few seniors to stabilize the team MAY work.

Lots of men putting their hands up for selection, which to my mind is a very good development.
Yes, it is a very attractive series and one that we can actually win.
There may well be some very hard decisions for the selectors to make.
Can we play 4 pacers, Aljo, Roach, Shamar and Jayden.
If so, what happens to either Motie, Chase or Warrican. Does that make the Greaves v Jason place defunct.
Who plays as WK.
Will Cambell or Blackwood be considered and will the potential of Louis be kept.
All thisand not to mind the middle order.

I always believe, he should be in top 6, if selected...he should always be selected as batter.....bowling is extra..

After, initial success with red ball as batter.... specially against Pakistan...he developed a technical flaw...akin to Silva...lbw, bowled or caught flicking to incoming balls....Dessie, added to his problems by selecting him as bowler for Aussie tour...

Chase, Silva can form a formidable middle order..

For the first time n years.,
Windies have a very god problem:
That is, many putting up their hands for selection.

I would not mention names like Blackwood and Tage for obvious reasons.

Opening spots:-

Braffit, Louis, Campbell

Middle Order: -
Athanaze
Chase
Anderson
Jangoo
Dasilva
Wickham
Mohammed

Allrounders
Greaves
Holder
Ali-Mohammed
John
Sinclair

Spinnas: -
Warican
Pierre
Mootie

Pacers:-
Seales
S. Joseph
A. Joseph
Cucaracha
Blades
Williams

Wickekeeper: -
Only 1 obvious choice in Imlach.

I have not mentioned the improving
O. Smith
O. Thomas
O. Shields
Thorne (Injured)
C. Holder
B. King

This is a real serious problem and a great one.

Imagine what woudl happen if Hope and Lewis come into the frame.

I would not dare pick a 15 man squad (with 2 developing players to boot) until full season is over.
Hopefully by then Braffit lose de captaincy.

Much love for Chase. The man really performs at the regional level. At the end of this round, I want us to consider the players for the A team and Test team. if Chase plays all four final rounds and keeps up this level of productivity, he makes one of those squads. He has already done more than Kevin Sinclair has done for the season so far.

It's heartening that batters are scoring centuries...Sammy has already expressed his mind..
Experience players, who has played and performed in different conditions, including players, who moved away from red ball due to various reasons, are his priority....one name he spoke was Jonathan Drakes for Sri Lanka A tour...I assume
Chase
Holder
few others are in running for Aussie tour...
Also, what pitch is prepared...rank turner like Pakistan or Pace.... decides the players selected.....

The one name being missed off most lists is Anderson Philips, not really sure why as he has been the most consistent pacer at regional level over the last couple of years.
A lot was invested in him so we should reap the rewards.

When you see any player’s true colours at big man cricket, don’t get fooled by lil man cricket outings.

People don’t change

Big man cricket have big man resources to analyse your weaknesses and exploit them. That doesn’t happen in lil man cricket. They just run up and bowl and shuffle down and bat.

Keep trying new players until you find the right ones.

With Chase's performance, Hodge's place on the Test team might be under threat. Also, it could mean that Sinclair would not be needed on tours when Chase is available.

Regionally, Chase is way above Sinclair. Problem with Sinclair is that Guyana underbowls him. He bowls far fewer overs than Permaul, Motie etc. I think that he is even behind Charles on the regional standings, making him at best the 4th best off spinner in the region.
