Regardless of the outcome of the match against T&T, nice to see two of the young fast bowlers who are coming through bowling well and taking wickets.
Pitman, bowling genuinely quickly, hurried all of the batsmen he bowled to and currently has 4/27, which as it stands is his best in first class cricket. At just 21 years of age, he is certainly one to watch for the future, especially if he continues to bowl at such pace.
Johann Layne, further along in the development process but also just 21, bowled very well with decent control and pace at a troubling length for the batsmen. His height was a constant problem for the T&T batsmen, resulting in his third five wicket haul in just his 15th first class match. Noticeably quicker than usual, Layne is starting to look like the real deal. He has already taken over 50 first class wickets and has proven to be a useful lower order batsman, with a pair of half centuries to his name and an average over 20.
With the likes of these two following the success of Jayden Seales & Shamar Joseph, the West Indian fast bowling production line is showing signs of being more productive than for some time.
