Nothing to jump and wave about.
I am concerned with young players' development.
Who are the batting coaches on the Island? They all should be given a Red card.
More than 20 Bajans are playing. How many of them are coming to the party?
Yet some fans want these players to be playing for the Barbados Pride.

I saw Clarke's innings. His first inning prompted me to write about his batting technique, but his second dismissal was the worst. The youngster needs a lot of assistance
The youngsters are coming out of the U19 without the basic techniques: balls pitched outside the off stump, and the right-hander's left foot is down the middle of the wicket.
Wickham's inning was the best I saw. Hope he prepares better next year and leaves that T10 junk for later.

Layne is pretty quick and seems like he can add a yard or 2 to his speed.

For batsman, they should be scoring hundreds at the regional level, which is about 50 runs at the international level.
One of the reasons I followed Kriagg and saw him debut at the U19 and regional levels was
the number of tons he was scoring.
A friend from Antigua saw him at the U19 and a few years later, watching him at the regional, called me and said, Kraigg Brathwaite's coach should be fired. The guy was legside dominant, that strength has been taken away, leaving to just poke.
That's what we all are watching Kraigg doing.
I was very impressed with a textbook coverdrive yesterday, it seem someone is assisting him, but it is going to take months maybe years for him to correct his flaws.

Bim youngsters are dominating at the youth level, but are not carrying on to the national team, the youngster Dorne scored his first under 19 ton at 14 y.o old, but has regressed since. Bolden was on par with Bethell at u13, 15 and 16 but he has not progressed.

Who are the batting coaches on the Island, the basic flaws that was shown in the match should had been seen at the youth and the academy level.
I felt sorry watching him face four consecutive balls from Plillips in the first innings and missed all of them, which continued in the second inning.
The young opener from St Lucia has similar flaws.
What is alarming is that our female team at the regional level was embarrassing.
With Conde retiring, it is time for Estwick and Springer to step away also.
The Academy of Excellence need fresh blood, one with experience and ideas.

I always felt Greenidge, Haynes and Bestbwould make good batting coaches and I would want them working at the Herman Griffith level.
It is good when a player can score a ton but that doesn’t mean they aren’t flaws that would be exploited at a higher level, we need technically correct batsmen

I am not in position to spot flaws as I played limited about cricket 50 years ago. But my limited knowledge tells me that you have to see your coach batting, bowling and fielding in real games, and our international players performing at the highest level to copy their style, passion and confident at the crease.

'Throw down' is not going to improve our batting or coaching from a manual. lol

Every batsman develops flaws; GG called on Oney and others when things were not up to what he expected. Someone who was my mentor would let me know when he was spotting GG.

When cricket was introduced at the Primary school level, my older brother and I attended a training session at Wesley Hall Primary School, which was conducted by Foffie Williams.
David Murray and his brother Ivan were part of the group, my last game in Bim was a charity match, which was an annual affair, it was my first of that kind, I wanted to play because David was playing on the same team and I was hoping he would wicketkeep to my legbreaks and off break.
My cousin, who was 2 years younger, tried teaching me to bowl the googly, but I never learned how to bowl it, when David arrived at Friendship heard I was playing, he came to me and said, Mr gloveman, don't drop any of my catches.
I was so disappointed.
I also went to trial and opened the batting with Richard Stoute's brother.
Richard and I remained good buddies over the years.
I was a jack of all trades; in every position I played, the guys were so much better than me.

Nice, I met David in NY. I knew of Andy his brother , he was very good batsman. He played against Dennis Lille when the Aussie toured Bim and scored eighty odd . I was told that he give it up to follow his dream in music..

Andy was living in Europe, and he passed away last year. I haven’t seen him since that day at Wesley Hall. I ran into David at a restaurant while having lunch with my sister, and I was surprised that he remembered my name.

I was scolded by Richard Stoute at Wanderer; he advised me not to give David any money, he was five days late.

Now that all three are gone I will say, David was treated as a bastard, I love David from the day we met, had a dislike for Andy from the first meeting.
