I think that the SA A team visit is probably more important for WI development than the Oz tour. Based on performances in this FC so far, I am putting forward the following names for A team squad:

Cooper
Evelyn
McKenzie
Wickham
Anderson
Andrew
Drakes
King (Capt)
Bowen Tuckett
Savory
Josh Bishop
Dember
Layne
Pittman
Tyson
Josh James

If Chase is not in test squad, why not him?
He is only 32, actually 33 rounded.

If Sinclair is not in the test squad, why not him?
I believe Sinclair is suffering from being under-bowled by his team.
Bowling Permaul for long spells, when Permaul ain't making Windies team.

Imagine if Pooran had made himself available for Trini red ball team and performed.
same can be said of Ewin lewis.

My based on your squad.
These squads are hard to pick.
Cooper
Evelyn
McKenzie
Wickham
Anderson
Andrew
Drakes
King (Capt)
Bowen Tuckett
Sinclair for Savory
Josh Bishop
Chase for Dember
Layne
Pittman
Tyson
Blades for Josh James

I have no difficulty with your 3 replacements, but actually I have just realised that I did not include Alimohammed as I was going for James as a seamer/allrounder but Alimohammed has been much better. Blades therefore will have to battle with Pittman for the other seamer spot. I deliberately was trying to field a side with no international experience but decided that at least the captain should have experience, hence King. My reasoning is that players who have previously played red or white ball cricket for WI should not need to play A team cricket as they already have international experience. Their performances should earn them places in the test or other international squads without such an opportunity. The only exception was McKenzie as maybe only Henry from LI could be a third opener. I think Chase would be a better captain than King in any event and so would replace King with Chase. For the above reason, I consider Sinclair a known quantity and for that reason was giving another offspinner, Dember, an opportunity to see if he can step up to the next level. Chaim Holder has not played enough and Barnes from JA has not been consistent enough. Charles has already had A team experience without being able to wow anyone. Savory has been consistent over this season and last year and I had him as back up keeper. I think that Andrew plays as a batsman and others should get the opportunity to show their worth as keeper/batsman. Thanks for the feedback. Revised squad is:
Cooper
Evelyn
McKenzie/Henry
Wickham
Anderson
Andrew
Drakes
Chase/King (Capt)
Bowen Tuckett
Savory
Josh Bishop
Dember
Layne
Pittman/Blades
Tyson
Alimohammed

If any of the players that played against Australia or Pakistan is not selected, these players should be in the A team.
Most of you fans have not learned or studied the last 25 years.
Doing the same every tournament shows all fans are just like the people who run CWI.

Our youngsters need to be playing more cricket, how can young Louis get dropped after playing a few matches?

Cause we only need a few to know. How has his performance been in FC? Maybe a better indicator.

Louis was the talk of the town a couple of years ago, his first match was Feb 7, 2024
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/west-indies-championship-2023-24-1419858/leeward-islands-vs-west-indies-academ
His first test after scoring 3 tons was July 10, 2024.
Mikyle Louis
In less than 2 years you want to replace him, the same goes for Hodge, Athanaze and Greaves.
When will you fans start by building a squad?

Can't agree more .....the incumbents should not be dropped, except Carty.....Carty should be in A team...Holder comes in....bowling attack based on pitch...... Louis,Hodge,Athanaze can't be dropped....for Hope or King just on surmises...

As for A team...few of the players, who would play in Australia series...will get opportunities to sharpen ...few newbies included...

Mc.Allister needs plenty of help before he moves forward, he is lucky to be playing regional cricket.

TnT had a young leg spinner, think his name was Singh. I saw him at either U19 or U17 a few years ago.
Any idea how he is progressing? Thought he would have been at the Academy stage by now.

This is what will take WI cricket fwd!

Maybe the ICC coulc institute an over-50 test league to appease geriatric test cricket aficionados.

You kidding right?

He needs Franklyn Stephenson Academy to learn to bowl.

At present should not be near Bim attack, lest any West indies team.

Erratic run-up, thus spray the ball all over the place.

Did you see him on a bowler's wick versus Trinis.

He worked keeper Hope to de bone.

He did not place 2 ball the same place in any over

Is the tour to Sri Lanka or South Africa, I thought it was to Sri Lanka and if so the squad may alter to the conditions.

isnt it that South Africa A is coming to WI? If our A team is touring, we should certainly try to get a home tour from another A team later in the year. For me, we should have 2 A series per year, one home and one away. It just does not make sense to have the same players playing each over for more than 7 rounds. By that time, the better players have been identified and they should play at (hopefully) a higher standard that our FC standard to see who is ready for full international duty.

I really would like to give Ojay Shields a go , I think he would be a good pick and would be a handful on pacy wickets.

Should I therefore make it Tyson/Shields then? I agree that he does pick up wickets regularly. I have no idea who is faster between the two of them.
