12.5
Sai Kishore to Stoinis, FOUR, 87.9 kph, turning away a little, Stoinis sits down and reverse laps it over short third man. There was a slip in place but Stoinis was never worried about that. Has the ball stopped turning? Dew on?

13.6
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer, SIX, consecutive sixes. Shreyas Iyer is in some nick. It's short on middle, he goes on the back foot and pulls it flat and well over deep mid-wicket, what a blow that was
13.5
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer, SIX, 50 for Shreyas Iyer on his debut as PBKS captain. Picks the googly outside off, it's fairly full too, Iyer gets forward and swipes it high and over long-on, clean strike

debut: 1/4/03
262,650 runs

14.2
Siraj to Stoinis, SIX, muscled over deep mid-wicket. It's not short, but Stoinis picks the length so quickly, it's a length delivery and Stoinis has pummelled the pull flat over deep mid-wicket

Prasidh to Shreyas Iyer, 2 runs, is that another six? No. Tewatia at long-on with a superb effort, stretches as far as he can, takes it over his head but as he tries to lob it back, the right leg touches the cushion? so will be six? No. The third ump reckons Tewatia is fine. Again it's a half-volley on the stumps, Prasidh has been either too full or too short this over, Shreyas Iyer gets forward to loft and just has the elevation to clear Tewatia who did outstandingly
16.5
Prasidh to Shreyas Iyer, SIX, another six and the PBKS dugout are up and clapping. Full outside off, a bit of a slice on this loft from Shreyas Iyer, fades away like a golf shot, long-off is in business but it just clears him, Shreyas Iyer dealing only in sixes here
16.4
Prasidh to Shreyas Iyer, SIX, Prasidh is not learning at all. Digs it in short outside off, Shreyas Iyer pulls and there is more height than elevation, Rabada at deep backward square-leg takes it well but as he catches, his right leg steps on the cushion, he was right on the edge of the boundary and did not manage to hold his balance, could have taken it, gone out and come back in to catch it again after lobbing it, but did not do so. Was he not aware of how close he was to the cushions?
16.3
Prasidh to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR, width and now Shreyas Iyer shows everyone that he can play on the off-side too. Short of a length outside off, slashed up and over backward point and nearly all the way too, one bounce over the ropes
16.2

Prasidh to Shreyas Iyer, SIX, he wanted to play this shot off the last ball. Similar short of length delivery outside off, Shreyas Iyer stands tall and pulls off the front foot, over wide long-on and it flies away

Rabada to Shreyas Iyer, 1 run, equals his highest-ever score in IPL. Sai Kishore saves the four with a dive to his right at short third man, that was travelling, full just outside off, Shreyas Iyer opens the face of the bat and guides it fine

Siraj to Shashank Singh, FOUR, PBKS end on 243. What a poor last over. 23 off the last over. Siraj digs it in short outside off with the field up, Shashank Singh ramps it over short third man and it's a fitting way to end the innings
19.5
Siraj to Shashank Singh, FOUR, to backward square leg
19.5
Siraj to Shashank Singh, wide, full and down leg, Shashank Singh flicks and misses, wide it is
Gill with another chat to Siraj. Once again Shreyas Iyer applauds that from Shashank Singh. Ness Wadia the owner of PBKS is up and clapping too.
19.4
Siraj to Shashank Singh, FOUR, boundaries flowing. Poor delivery, slower and short and wide outside off, Shashank Singh cuts hard and well wide of sweeper cover, to his right
19.3
Siraj to Shashank Singh, FOUR, still Shreyas Iyer not on strike. But Shashank Singh is doing it for PBKS. Very full outside off, Shashank has used his hands to dirrect the drive wide of cover, superbly got under that, Shreyas pats Shashank and has a chat with him
19.2
Siraj to Shashank Singh, 2 runs, full on off, Shashank Singh with a shuffle across, flicks it wide of deep mid-wicket for two
Gill with some words to Siraj. The skipper not happy.
19.1
Siraj to Shashank Singh, FOUR, dug in short with third man in. Poor bowling. Shashank Singh ramps it easily over short third ma

All while Shashank hogged the strike and prevented him (his captain) from reaching that coveted (century) milestone.

All while Shashank hogged the strike and prevented him (his captain) from reaching that coveted (century) milestone.

In interview after the innings, Shashank said at the beginning of the last over his Cappo told him to finish off the innings and not to bother to take a single for him

Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill are at the crease.
Sai Sudharsan is on strike.
Arshdeep Singh will open the attack

0.1
Arshdeep Singh to Sai Sudharsan, FOUR, given as runs. Not sure Sai Sudharsan got anything on that. Drifting down leg, length delivery and Sai Sudharsan flicks and misses, off the thigh and down to the fine-leg fence, given as runs

Maxwell to Shubman Gill, out Caught by Priyansh Arya!! Maxwell does it again. How often does he do this? He picks a massive wicket. Gill knows he has to maximise the powerplay, so he comes down the track and this is at his legs, he flicks but has closed the face too early, the thick leading-edge goes straight up, Arya was not comfortable under this from cover, wobbled a bit but managed to just hold on. Gill was looking so good but has to walk back now. The move to get Maxwell on in the powerplay has worked.

Stoinis to Sai Sudharsan, SIX, in the airrrr! Oh Omarzai has just tipped it over the bar at third man. Stoinis isn't pleased. He overran and had to fetch to the the left, hence no control. Short delivery outside off stump, Sai slashes hard and gets a thick edge, third man ran to the right, could have easily had it. Had to jump but was it's in a good position

Stoinis to Rutherford, SIX, this guy is an insane batter when he gets going. Very capable of producing game-changing knocks from nowhere. And he's started well here. Shortish delivery, Rutherford rocks back and nails the pull over square leg. Easy pickings though

13.2
Stoinis to Rutherford, FOUR, pace off, pace off but look at the awareness in Rutherford to delay the bat swing and also aim behind point because they had third man up. Simple yet outstanding batting. Was too short and too wide

13.4
Stoinis to Rutherford, SIX, in the airrr, more of a top edge but that was a poor ball from Stoinis. With fine leg up he had no business bowling short close to the body. Rutherford got a free swing across the line and got a healthy edge

Marco Jansen to Rutherford, FOUR, finally manages to squeeze this away off-side. They had backward point in the deep too square. Marco Jansen bowls a full delivery wide of off. Unlike Vyshak the ball comes into the LHB so this becomes a shade easier for Rutherford than facing a right-hand pacer and he got an important four
