QPCC power to T20 title

Queen’s Park Cricket Club cruised to their seventh Premiership 1 T20 title last night with a commanding 92-run victory over Clarke Road United in the final of the CPL/TKR T20 Festival at the Queen’s Park Oval.
Sent in to bat first, the Parkites posted an imposing 185 for five off their 20 overs, anchored by an unbeaten 81 from Amir Jangoo.Left-arm orthodox spinner Khary Pierre then ripped through Clarke Road’s lineup with a hat-trick, bundling them out for 93 in 16.2 overs. Jyd Goolie (three for 14) also claimed three wickets, while Akeal Hosein and Terrance Hinds took two wickets each.

The scoring rate did not improve even after the fielding restrictions were lifted. Hinds dismissed Nicholas Sookdeosingh (24) and Rambaran (eight) in the tenth over, reducing Clarke Road to 54 for four.
Then came Pierre’s hat-trick, which effectively ended Clarke Road’s resistance.Pierre, the leading wicket-taker for the T&T Red Force in the West Indies Championship, continued his fine form. He had Yannick Ottley stumped for one by Jangoo; Anderson Mahase caught by Goolie for a first-ball duck and Antonio Gomez edging behind to Jangoo without scoring as Clarke Road crashed to 65 for eight in the 13th over, with no way back from there.
