KC - JC - CHS do battle. Almost too close to call, however, I am calling KC by a whisker over JC.
GIRLS
Edwin Allen (EDA) - HYDELL - HOLMWOOD
EDA is the big favorite, however, I am watching Holmwood.

It would be an upset of mighty proportion were Wolmers to lose the C1 100m/200m.

Mr. RJR, Champs starts today and your school is in with a mighty chance to win, assuming they will go about the task as if work is burning in the fields.

END OF DAY 1
BOYS
KC - major concern are injuries to Wade (who advanced to the Class 1 100m semis). He is not a threat in the 100m but if he cannot report for the 100m semi then thats a serious blow to KC's 4x100 as he is integral to that team.
Porter ran the fastest time in the Class 2 400mH but was seen grabbing his hamstring after the event. His points are needed by KC.
JC - their Class 3 and Class 2 100m sprinters false started. In the Class 2 400mH and field events, they dropped expected points as well.
CHS - had he best day of the Big 3, however, they dropped expected points in a few events including the 2k steeple.
GIRLS
EDA - did what was expected. They are out front and might have to self-destruct to lose.
HYDEL - normally strong in the lower classes, they are dismal in those age groups. They cannot win the 2025 title.
HOLMWOOD - if EDA slips this is the team that can claim the title.

Of the top 3, they had the worst day. They cannot have another day like yesterday. It will be interesting to see what they do for the C1 4x100. They also lost big points in the C1 LJ.

Boy Joe, correct points dropping left and right for the big 3, KC in long jump class 1 too, the JC class 3 yute was robbed, his foot slipped down the blocks, there was no false start there, the powers that be need to look carefully at these systems lots of false starts yesterday unusually so.
Still any body champs, if I was KC I would be very nervous after first day, maybe the pressure of their 100th celeb is too much, they can learn a thing or two from Wolmers the way we won the 100th champs

Wolmers did not have the burden of expectation that KC has; Wolmers came along for the ride and went all the way. KC, on the other hand, has actually placed the pressure on themselves by promising Champs to the institution as a centenary present.

END OF DAY 2
BOYS
KC - lost points in the Class 2 LJ and had poor 100m returns. Overall, a hollow team, however, I am not sure the others have what it takes to pounce.
JC - their distance runners didn't show their traditional prowess.
CHS - didn't suffer casualties as much as the other two, however, they are showing a lack of depth.
GIRLS
EDA - the loss of their Class 4 sprinter Pine will hurt immensely.
HYDEL - They cannot win the 2025 title.
HOLMWOOD - if EDA slips this is the team that can claim the title. They are hanging tight and will surpass EDA in the distances. EDA best chance to pull away is the hurdle events.
THE RELAYS TOMORROW WILL DETERMINE CHAMPS ON BOTH SIDES. - how does KC compensate for the loss of Wade Class 1 4x100; how does EDA compensate for the loss of Pine Class 4 200m & 4x100.

I certainly hope work is burning in the fields....
SABRINA Dockery of Lacovia High ran a personal best 11.07 seconds (0.8m/s) — the second-fastest time ever for a girl at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Athletics Championships — to win the Class One 100m on the second day of the five-day spectacle.
On a day when false starts killed the dreams of several athletes Dockery got off to a lightning start, and after 30 metres it was a procession to the finishing line as she improved her lifetime best from the 11.12 seconds which she set on Tuesday. Her effort on Wednesday’s final was the second-fastest time ever at this level, only behind Alana Reid’s superb national junior record 10.92 set in 2023.

Will it come down to the relays?
The “Big Three” — Kingston College, Calabar High and Jamaica College are safely through to all four sprint relay finals set for Saturday’s final session of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
With the predictions for a close finish, relay points could prove vital for all three schools who are expected to be battling for the championships and all three were in the top three in all three classes on Thursday’s qualifying.

ON TO DAY 4
With two days of championships remaining:
BOYS
KC (99.5) - CHS (76) - JC (54) are locked in a battle for the title. JC has shown weaknesses in the distance events, CHS appears to be punching above their weight and KC has enough depth (200m weakness but for a doubling Pitter) to hold on, perhaps. There were no casualties in the sprint relay heats. The team that avoids injury and relays mistakes in the finals will win a tight one. I still have KC winning a squeaker.
GIRLS
Hydel (88 ) - EDA (84) - HOLM (83) will take this one down to the last event (4x400) which Hydel will win. What transpires between now and that event will be nail-biting. Holmwood committed the biggest faux pas, returning the advantage Edwin Allen had given them when C4 sprint double favorite Pine went down with an injury. Holmwood then (a) lost their top sprinter in the class to an injury and further compounded the matter by dropping the baton in the C4 4x100 an event they were favored to win. Hydel doesn't have the depth of the others, Edwin Allen is known to give away points as we get closer to Saturday night. Holmwood still has an outside chance of winning. This one I cannot call until the end of tonight.
