only two umpires worse than joel were ashocker de silva and billy bowden. even nitin menon, who was awful when he first started, made significant improvements in his umpiring and is now very competent. in the ipl when he first started, man he made some of the greatest howler's I've ever seen, but he's pretty decent now

way before my time. but eddie nicchols and the billy doctrove were umpires of the highest order....my only complaint was that they overcompensated when umpiring in the West indies. Nicchols gave ridley jacobs out lbw in the 99 kensington test and jacobs wasn't out

Supposedly, Rowe was run out on 57 in the 2nd innings of his test debut at Sabina Park, but ruled not out by Humpire Sang Hue.

Rowe went on to complete his ton and, in doing so, establish himself as an immortal on debut.

Patriotism or Self Preservation:lolconfused I distinctly remember a quick single called by Freddo and which Yagga had to hustle for. It was followed by a voice in The Eastern stand coming through the Black n White TV and whose comments either Cozier or Lindy described as uttering quite colorful language. 'Hey Fredericks weh di B....C.. yuh a duh? Mine yuh run 'im out yunnuh!' Happened in the last session of 1st day's play I think.
