That is not the case at the moment.
Imlach is the incumbent keeper and he has captaincy experience at the FC level.
I would not be surprised if they go back to Jason Holder as an interim measure. That would be a mistake IMO, especially seeing that he picks and chooses what series he’s available for.
Maybe the plan is to bring back Shai Hope to the test team and make him captain there too. They need to maintain their status quo.

The only sure picks in the present team is Seales and Imlach, the team is really on more shaky ground going forward.

On current form Josh walks in to the test team as a middle order batsman.
Think the current situation might suit his appointment as there is no way he could be keeping wicket also.
Like his energy and I always get the impression his first love is playing test cricket.
He has also shown some real fight on a number of occasions , particularly the ton he scored a against England a few years ago plus the partnership he had with Hodge in the winning test match against Oz.
Can't think of a better option .

the bar is so low for the top 5 WI test batters that Silva easily overcomes it. I believe that in the current FC he is miles above any of them. I would support Silva for captain. Yes he was dropped but so was Lloyd before he was appointed captain so no big deal. Hope, who has shown no interest in returning to test cricket, would be a poor choice. Almost as poor as Holder who is being advanced as a possible candidate. I support Silva as batting captain and Imlach as keeper/vice captain.
