The best thing to do is to rotate the captaincy. First test in Barbados, make a Bajan the captain. Second test in Grenada, call back Fletcher or Devon Smith to captain. Third test in Jamaica, appoint Campbell. Do the same in all formats, and to ensure everything is equal, from now on, start all series either north in Jamaica, and move downwards, or south in Guyana, and move upwards until every country gets a game. No need for strategic planning and goals as Darren Sammy alluded to at the press conference. In this region, where insularity is the order of the day, any strategic decision would offend somebody, so abandon that, and give everybody a game. It is so sad, that after the decision was made, not one quality analysis came about as to why this may have been done. There may be very strategic and genuine reasons for the decision. Sammy said it was a hard decision, and he had a talk with Powell on the matter. He claimed that it was part of a longer term plan. Do they just get up one morning and decide to drop a guy because he is from a particular territory?
