I say yes for the passion but sometimes getting mad and vex may cloud his vision and thinking,really I don't know, who knows, getting mad can probably help sometimes.I remember when I was captain of my school in TT how i got vex when anybody misfield or got out playing a stupid shot.I once got reported by the Catholic Priest for cussing a boy on my team,the Priest sent a message to the Priest of my school and I got a minor punishment.I had told the fielder "why yuh didn't effing stay home let yuh sister come and play for we".

It is either you are naive or an idiot. I have no issues promoting and defending my own as that is human to do. I have also called for my own players to be dropped but I guess you missed that and have also called for players from other islands to be promoted to WI colors.

One visit to this board and you see the Anti-Sammy vitriol and most of that is coming from where he is from? So they can hide behind all the nonsense about underperforming/lack of talent etc.

Do you realize you're only confirming "the smallness" and insularity I referenced? Mature beings have no problem supporting their own when that "own" is qualified...not just because that's their own.

I have no issues being considered small-minded in this regard. For decades small islanders like ourselves have been marginalized and discriminated against. Many could not make the WI team or when they did they were never given the opportunities those from the bigger territories were given. I will continue to support and promote my own. Very happy and content with being small-minded.

You probably recall the wicked and vitriolic attacks at Sammy when he was Captain. Some called him donkey, and other names to hateful to mention and they even attacked his wife etc. Dark time for this Board. I know you remember as you probably were one of those who attacked or remained silent just under a different Poster name.
