Speaking to Newsday at the end of the match on April 12, Guyana captain Tevin Imlach said he didn't want his team to be seen as cheaters. "(It does put a bit of a taint on the title). It's something you don't want to be known for," Imlach said. "You don't want to play cricket that way where you're being accused of stuff like that.

Guyana is a great team. Well led and with this ability to continually find players who know their role and execute. Guyana has been down but is just never out of the game. They are truly the Australia of the region at present. I am hoping for the sake of those administrators, coaches and players who have honed this team into an efficient fighting machine that the nonsense that occurred was a one off incident based on stupidity only. I would love it if Guyana could play against other FC champions around the world to prove how good they are.
