i'd wait to see him against better opposition........children of professional cricketers are usually never as good as their parents. plenty examples: arjun tendulkar, rohan gavaskar, mali richards etc

children of professional cricketers are usually never as good as their parents
.

that's not only in cricket. Although currently in football there are quite a few exceptions: Simone ,3 sons playing, Holland, Thruman 2 sons ,Kluivert.

Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants, 36th Match

LSG 180/5 (20)

0.4
Thakur to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, SIX, what a start from the 14-year old, no respect whatsoever for Thakur - on a good length around off, he stays leg-sided and then carves the drive, high and over cover for a maximum. Had everyone in awe, his partner, the bowler and even Rishabh Pant

1.2
Avesh Khan to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, SIX, a first-ball six off Avesh as well, this could be something unique - Avesh goes full, but it's right in the slot for the left-hander, he clears his left leg and drills it back over the bowler's head, went sailing over the long-on boundary for another maximum

Avesh Khan to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, FOUR, a chance, it's dropped and the ball is parried away to the ropes - back of a length and angling into the left-hander, Suryavanshi swung hard and got a fat top-edge, high over mid-wicket, three men converged, but it was mid-wicket who got there first, was a,ways going to be a tough catch as he was running back, it burst out and then Bishnoi tried to stop it, but he ends up fumbling off his bnody and the ball rolls onto the ropes

You sure it’s not Vaibhav Suryavanchi RR.

Anyway, my pick has been Sai Sudharsan for all formats since last year.

Vaibhav’s knock today was impressive. Especially at 14 years old. That’s crazy

you're right. football definitely has a few exceptions. Jordi Cruyff was a serious step down from his father though.

Ayush Mhatre

BornJuly 16, 2007 (17 years

4.3
Chahar to Ayush Mhatre, FOUR, shot! Stand and deliver stuff. Short of length outside off, Mhatre does not move his feet much, uses his power to flat-bat this straight back over Chahar, couple of bounces and into the fence

3.6
Ashwani Kumar to Ayush Mhatre, SIX, well, well! Yesterday a 14-year old, today a 17-year old, IPL you beauty! What a start for Mhatre! Banged into the surface as Ashwani tries to test him with the short stuff, but Mhatre is up for it - he gets into a nice position and nails the pull into the deep square leg stand. That was the over CSK needed to get their innings going.. 18 runs
3.5
Ashwani Kumar to Ayush Mhatre, SIX, third ball he's faced and Mhatre has put it over the rope. Tad too straight from Ashwani - full on middle and leg, Mhatre picks it off his pads and sends it sailing over the deep mid-wicket fence
3.4
Ashwani Kumar to Ayush Mhatre, FOUR, first boundary in IPL for the 17-year old. Fullish delivery around off, Mhatre drives through the line and sends it racing past his partner. No need to run for those..

Chahar to Ayush Mhatre, FOUR, smashed! This guy is all hands. Back of a length delivery, Mhatre's feet once again stay glued to the crease but he slaps this wide of cover, leaving the two fielders ball-watching

6.5
Chahar to Ayush Mhatre, out Caught by Santner!! Chahar has the last laugh. Only a quickfire cameo from Mhatre. But he has given the innings some much needed impetus. Chahar goes short and into the wicket, gets the ball to climb and Mhatre is not in control of the pull, gets it high on the bat and the ball skies towards long-on,

Ayush Mhatre c Santner b Chahar 32(15) [4s-4 6s-2]

Jadeja to Rickelton, out Caught by Ayush Mhatre!! Excellent catch by the youngster. Jadeja breaks the opening stand. He's having some night. Runs with the bat and now strikes in his first over. Flighted from round the wicket, the ball drifts away and Rickelton has to fetch the slog sweep, does not generate enough power to beat deep mid-wicket, Mhatre settles in front of the rope and takes a well-judged catch. The debutant looked calm under a pressure catch

Rickelton c Ayush Mhatre b Jadeja 24(19) [4s-3 6s-1]

11.3
Ashwin to Suryakumar Yadav, 1 run, that's a terrific effort from Mhatre in the deep! Suryakumar Yadav kneels across on one knee and sweeps it uppishly towards fine leg. It's traveling and Mhatre judges it nicely. He takes the catch but he realizes that the momentum will take him beyond the boundary ropes. So, he flicks it in the playing arean in the nick of time before going over. He doesn't have the time to get back and catch it but he has saved five runs for his side

Ishant to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, SIX, this is a little blinder from Raghuvanshi after walking in at number 9! Slower length ball around off, he gets low and sweeps it over the fine leg boundary. Pure timing!

Angkrish Raghuvanshi 27*(13)
