His real onslaught was the 1st innings. Interestingly Dowe caught him in the deep on the onside off Foster. Boyhood memories flashing back. Looked at the scorecard and WI was all out for the exact score that Oz declared. All along I thought RBK and tonned up. My fav WI batsman so guess its bias.

Uton Dowe was a poster here at one point.

It would be good if he returns for a visit and share things from his perspective.

In M.A. Holding's 1st autobio he recalls that on debut for Yard and being still at KC he was stunned to see Dowe doing laps before start of play but more stunned to see him after running grab his skipping rope and go at it. There was a joke in Yard that after Uton went to a training stint in Bim under Rev Wes and Big Grif's tutelage he came back 'mash up' But as Sir Hube says what did him in was not listening to Kanhai.

Narps mentioned Fredo... Early 70s too, Shell Shield, GT vs Yard at 'Bina. Fredo hooked and pulled Uton out of the attack. The more Fredo scored boundaries, the more upset and wayward Dowe became until the cappo (McMorris??) pulled him. Funny enough, Yardies enjoyed every bit of it.
