Axar to Jacob Bethell, out Caught by Karun Nair!! Jacob Bethell showed sparks of brilliance in his short stay but Axar gets the better of him. Axar smartly slows his pace on this one as bowls it on the shorter side at 85.5kph on leg-stump. Jacob Bethell rocks to pull it across but is not able to generate enough power behind it. Karun runs in from deep backward square leg and dives in front to take a well-judged catch

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings, 52nd Match

0.5
Khaleel Ahmed to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, hat-trick of fours. Khaleel goes searching for swing and pitches it up, but there isn't any this time, Bethell leans forward and creams the drive square of the wicket

0.4
Khaleel Ahmed to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, back to back fours. This is deft touch. Short of length delivery close to off, Bethell rides the bounce and steers it to third man, Pathirana moves to his right and dives but does not make the stop
0.3
Khaleel Ahmed to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, Bethell is off and running. Half tracker and plenty of width outside off, Bethell does not miss out, goes full throttle on the cut and pierces a packed off-side field

Anshul Kamboj to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, lovely shot! Classical stuff from Bethell. Not a bad delivery from Kamboj. Fullish delivery on off, Bethell brings the bat down straight and caresses the drive straight of mid-on

Anshul Kamboj to Jacob Bethell, 1 run, oh no! There's a collision and a catch goes down. Pathirana is stil down on the ground. Back of a length and angled across, Bethell looks to hack it into the leg-side and gets a top-edge over short third. Jadeja runs back and takes the catch but Pathirana comes running in from deep backward point and collides into Jadeja which makes the ball pop out. Jadeja called for it, took it and had it in his hand for a second but Pathirana didn't hear the call and came charging in

Noor Ahmad to Jacob Bethell, SIX, that's massive! Dragged short and Bethell does not need to pick that, he quickly rocks back and smashes the pull into the deep square leg stand. 99-meter maximum..
4.3
Noor Ahmad to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, not off the middle but the ball races away. This was the googly and not sure Bethell picked it, he went for the big slog sweep and ended up dragging it off the inner half through mid-wicket

Noor Ahmad to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, that's a gift and Bethell cashes in. Juicy full toss outside off, Bethell just needed to pick his spot and he chooses extra cover - slaps it hard into the gap and the ball races away

Sam Curran to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, neatly done! Short and outside off, Bethell does not go hard on the cut, he waits for the ball to arrive and places the shot behind square on the off-side. No chance for the sweeper..

Jadeja to Jacob Bethell, FOUR, fifty for Bethell. He is touted to be a future star for England and he shows why. This is a top shot. Quicker and around off, Bethell crouches low and reverse laps it fine past short third. He raises his bat and soaks in the applause of the home crowd. This has been a top knock..

Pathirana to Jacob Bethell, out Caught by Brevis!! Brevis pulls out a stunner. The partnership is broken and CSK have their much needed breakthrough. Short of length delivery angled across, Bethell fetches the pull and gets a top-edge, the ball skies over square leg and seemed to be landing safely but Brevis charges in, dives forward and takes it inches from the ground. Just the kind of effort which lifts the fielding team.

The 97-run partnership between Kohli and Bethell is the second-highest opening stand for RCB vs CSK, after 111 between Kohli and Padikkal in Sharjah in 2021.

Jacob Bethell:
It was pretty incredible to watch (Shepherd's knock). I don't think he middled many balls there but he was still smacking it two tiers out, shows the power of the man and it was nice for him to do that. And for TD (Tim David) to be at the other end.. to have that much power is pretty cool. The chats were just making sure we keep hitting down the ground and react to everything else. The pitch felt it wasn't bouncing as much, I have not obviously batted on it this season, the feedback from Virat was it was a slightly better wicket with the new ball. It was pretty nice, there wasn't much swing and that made it (batting) easier. It (batting with Kohli) is pretty cool, even in Delhi.. just to match his intensity and today was lovely to spend some more time with him. When I walked off I said 210, I am happy with 3 more than that, there was a stumble in the middle and hopefully our spinners can enforce a bit of that on them in the middle overs, but for Romario to come out and strike like that has put us on a great total
