PP should step down. How could you blow a 25% lead in less than 2 months and the icing on the cake you cannot win your own riding?

PeePee Poilievre went from having a 10 point lead just 4 months ago to losing the election and losing his own seat which he held for 21 years.

He wanted people to vote for change and they did - at least in his own riding where he supported the dumb ass truckers who terrorized those very same residents for months. A lot of these residents are also federal civil servants and he made no bones about slashing their jobs if he got elected.

There's a rumor that 4 months ago he was already planning on how he was going to redecorate the PM's official residence. Now he has to put his own constituency office up for lease.

He campaigned with MAGA style sound bytes about "Axing the tax" and "no more woke" etc.

The guy is a mini-Dotard and I'm 100% sure he has a Dotard bobble head doll on his desk.

One of PeePee's biggest blunders was his disgusting and personal attacks on Jagmeet Singh. It seem to have worked because the NDP and Singh took a beating but it also seem to send NDP voters over to the Liberals in critical ridings. Karma took care things.

But the people in his own riding who had to suffer months of those dipshit truckers invading and disrupting their neighbourhoods and then watch PeePee hug and cozy up to them and then promising to kill all their civil service jobs if he got elected PM - that was the coup de grace.

What an idiot.

PP lost his seat, although it seems he wants to remain leader of the Conservatives. Dunno how that will work.

Thoughts and prayers for wannabe Canadian MAGAs. Glad Canada took a firm stand against that nonsense.

He'll run in a by-election whenever one of those pops up and that's how he will get back in the House of Commons.

I would dearly love to agree with you but sadly that's not the case. The Cons got almost half of the popular votes and increased their seat count from the last general election.

All this MAGA type crap has now seeped into Canada politics and has taken a foothold. PeePee and most of the Con candidates refused to do interviews with journalists and have taken an adversarial stance with the media.

The Cons have their own little version of Project 2025 but are very mum about it. And it's just as scary as the one down south.

PP wanted to mimic Trump election campaign and win, but Conservative policies became irrelevant as soon as Trump started ranting and raving.

Chalk it up to Trump's kiss of death.

It was a unique election and campaign and no matter which party is in power, two terms is the norm in Canada. The Conservatives were so far ahead because people wanted Trudeau out of office. Four months ago, without a viable choice, voters were ready to hand PP a landslide, or so they thought until Carney stepped in the race.

The MAGA infiltration came from the angry and disenchanted crowd and PP obliged and whipped them up at every opportunity. I think people came to their senses and realized Carney is the man for the times.

This election is an important lesson for any politician that ties themselves to Trump. As for Pierre Poilievre, he will have to learn the hard way.
