It's Jewel Andrew and Antigua and Barbuda. Imagine a twin-island state with a shade under 100k people have produced so much cricketing talent?

My wife is Antiguan, and I have travelled to the twin islands a few times.
I have plenty of stories from my visit to Barbuda.

BTW, my wife's dad was Viv's uncle.

I have corrected the name.

Yes.
We met in Barbados in 2008, after a 50-over ODI against England in 2008.
My wife and her siblings grew up in Barbuda, her grandmother was the district midwife on the Island, and an area in the hospital is named after her.

I would like Jewel to stop keeping and start to play purely as a top order batsman batting no less than 5 in the batting order.

I understand and agree with this for the longer formats but in a 20 over game I don't see the issue here.

There was a time when everyone was touting for "one-shot Bob "to be the saviour of West Indies Cricket until he met his makers.

Has Jewel Andrew played in the West Indies A-team yet?

I have followed Jacob from the Franklyn Stephenson tours of England and South Africa. Narper is aware of my postings. This youngster is an addict. His mom said that when she thinks he is tired and wants to sleep in, his bag is packed and ready to go.
He was in Bim before the tour to England with the same routine at the Franklyn Stephenson Academy, having a grandfather and a father who played the game, I am not surprised.
Jewel brings that flair to the game, the strokes he is playing at his age, tell me the world could be his Oyster.
The difference with him and Athanaze is, Athanaze is not patient and moves down the wicket before the delivery. I had a post asking him to get medical insurance, especially dental insurance.

I am not surprised he is not selected for the ODI series and will not be surprise if he is not selected for the test series.
International cricket is not fete cricket as Athanaze think it is.

Athanaze has been a disappointment but the omission from the WI ODI squad was warranted but it works in his favor as now he can play in the A Team FC matches which at this stage maybe more beneficial for him to regain form and spend some time at the crease.

Great the Jewel is now part of ODI.....

As for Athanaze.....he has been earmarked as someone around who test side can be built.....but for that Athanaze, had to be more consistent and focused....

Sammy ..... already setting his house...

Test
ODI
T-20

All in different orders....each having a core group...

As of today, test team doesn't have core group....both Coley as Coach & Braithwaite as Cappo ...failed...test side in total flux.....not a single player is sure pick for three series... Australia,India& New Zealand...

His rhetoric and his approach to batting are not inspiring to me.
I was shocked to see him moving down the wicket before the bowler delivered the ball, that is like preparing to pay medical expenses.
