On a serious note, the Pope, as the leader of the Catholic Church, bears the responsibility for the abuse and cover-ups, which have caused immense pain for so many.
I don't know you can reconcile the church’s spiritual role with the historical abuse as well as ongoing scandals.
It is difficult to ignore the suffering of victims that so many have to wrestle with.
