I accept Motie but not King who has flattered to deceive and Holder who to my mind is semi retired.
Roach has always been under valued imho

You saying Holder is semi retired but 37 year old Roach, who not even sure to make the test team unless it’s as a pity pick for a farewell, is one of the best 5 cricketers in the region?

Why Alzarri didn't receive a lengthy ban for horrible disrespect to fans and teammates remains a mystery.

No one is bigger than the game.

He should've been dropped from the team for months the minute he walked off the field without permission.

Now his apologists claim him as Top 5. WTF???

There are no 5 top cricketers in West Indies today, they are all struggling with consistency. Let’s look at it in a manner we could all understand, NOT ONE member of any of West Indies current team would have been considered for selection on any of WI previously great teams. Do not fool ourselves, we have fallen and cannot find a way to get back up, some might not have even make their regional teams, that’s how badly we have fallen in cricket standards.

Top five judging from last first-class season:
Hamilton- most consistent wicket-keeper batters, the best keeper and was in the top five in runs scored without making a century.
Imlach - very good wicket-keeper, a solid captain and was in the top ten in runs scored.
Layne - top wicket-taking fast bowler
Warrican- consistent wicket taking spinner
DaSilva - he had a good batting season.
Mohammed should be in that group, but not many fans look at him as a future player.

Top 5 in the region doesn’t mean they have to be able to make a past West Indies team.

Ok then let me simplify this for you guys, all current player’s around all WI teams, whether selected or unselected, are all on the same level, therefore there are no top 5 players. At any day, due to their equal inconsistencies, any could either make a century or a duck.

So a player with a batting average of close to 50 in ODIs after 130+ matches is not consistent?

Leff slippy.

He knows not even he can name a yardie in the top 5 so he decides that tarnishing EVERYBODY and saying none of them any good is his workaround lol

We are not talking about ODI team, the premise of the topic was 5 top regional playing, there was not clarification with regards to the type of team. However, with regards to the test team there are no 5 top players in the region they are all inconsistently the same.

Additionally, you are naming top players in the region without mentioning the player who actually has a significantly higher test average than all the other names mentioned, how insular can you guys get?? big grinbig grin
