Off-topic, I always wonder why the government didn't convert Cobbla camp into a technical boarding high school, linking it to Holmwood!

Just watched the interview and is even more convinced now that he has a role to play in JA's long sprint/middle distance coaching/development. Really intelligent and humble man.

I worked there for a while teaching agriculture! we had a good mushroom growing business, also a reasonable size dairy herd. Most people were trained in some trade.

As a youth, Newman was a proficient cricketer and in the early 1970s he played for the Jamaica Under 19s team, in the same side as Jeff Dujon and Michael Holding.
Newman represented Jamaica in two events at the 1976 Summer Olympics. He made the semi-finals of the 800 metres and finished fifth in contentious circumstances, having been bumped during the race by US runner Rick Wohlhute.
