T&T ...4 murders in 21 day's....

Landlord, bandit kill each other in fight for gun

AN apartment complex owner and a bandit killed each other yesterday during a botched home invasion in Carapichaima. The Express was told by neighbours that around noon, an armed bandit walked into the complex, located on Rodney Road, Orange Field Road. The complex houses eight apartments and is owned by Mario Maraj, 37.The bandit headed towards the landlord's apartment, situated close to Rodney Road.Pointing a gun at Maraj, he announced a robbery. The landlord however fought back, and during the struggle for the gun, both men were shot. Both Maraj and the bandit were killed on the scene.

A subsequent search of the premises led officers to the upstairs apartment, where they discovered the second deceased, a man of African descent, approximately 5’9” tall and clad in a black hoodie, white vest, blue three-quarter jeans, and green Nike sneakers. He was lying unresponsive in the kitchen, surrounded by a pool of blood and a large quantity of cash.

Aye ah scorecard???? Nah

But which of Kamla’s new initiatives, which you said by the way was too early to be effective, has led to this precipitous drop in killings?

Listen, murders stop? In your Canadian second rate uni did allyuh do normalisation of statistics?

did allyuh do normalisation of statistics?

Now you are a statistician.....kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

It will not be possible to do such since this period was under a SOE....it will not be accurate.

but lets do this.............138 /118 =1.16949152

UNC 21/4 =5.25

I noted I would wait till 100 days ....but you said NO ...hold them accountable before such occurs.

Now, since you are versed in normalization of statistics...

I would leave the Z scale explanation to you since you went to a Brit University of higher learning...shock

I await.

ps ....your pal sodden went to a Canadian University...hehehehe

Stop "splitting hairs"mate, tell me the last time a tree hanging over the neighbour's yard caused a killing, home invasions happen to one kind of people, business men and women they are sitting ducks. If these bandits know the business people got a weapon like a gun they will definitely think twice or more,at the moment it's free for all, just walk in and tek wah yuh want, some home owners even die at the hands of bandits.Tell me what would do if you were a businessman and living in Trinidad.Take note,I haven't said anything about kidnapping.

Believe what he is trying to say is that being armed can become a crutch that one turns to in less necessary scenarios just because they cam.

And with our propensity to have any and most negative speech towards us quickly devolve into dirt slinging, that is a very true statement.

Btw..Police are killed....banks are robbed, etc.

Those people are armed too!

People will find a way to do what they want. If you are a target, being armed just mean they'll arm themselves heavier or strike when you least expect. It is not what many make it out to be.

In theory you are saying what may happen but all bandits may not think the same way,I would have liked it if you had agreed just ah lil bit that having a gun may deter some bandits.I understand all that you say and if after one year or so "home invasions"continue to climb then change or scrap the law.Let me say that I am a reader of all your posts and I respect you and a few others.

I apologize. Was not personal. If i came of harsh it was not intentional....i like to get to the point swiftly as i dislike tying.

I would have liked it if you had agreed just ah lil bit that having a gun may deter some bandits.

This is THE theory... So unfortunately i can't agree.

As someone who goes from house to house and have done so in many communities, i see signs all the time that says, "we are armed....enter and we shoot". One of the friends went to a house....i believe he knew the guy...guy popped a shot through the door....just missed him, a friend.

How does anyone know how true that is? How will they know you are armed? And if they suspect you are, the smart or insidious ones will simply take precautions....like going to your kids room first and securing them as a hostage.
Or seeing you with a gun, firing on you. Or just more trigger happy due to the viability of you being armed.

I honestly think it is the theoretical fools gold, being armed.

Take the fools you see walking around the US with guns on their hips or assault rifles in full display....anyone looking to do mischief at the very location these people are can simply walk up to them first and pop them before they even know whats what.

Meh....guns give the holders a false sense of security.
