Motie test career is over.

With those guys as captain and VC yuh heading into each match with 2 spinners and one less batsman. Could be a green top all... one of the pacers will most likely have to warm the bench just to accommodate the specialist leaders.

According to reports, the VC will step aside given the nature of the pitch!

Did not know that Warri was named VC. Stunning decision to me..The obvious and logical choice for that position is
Imlach, the incumbent wicketkeeper and also captain of a Regional team. As wk he sees every ball and is in a best position to
advise about his bowlers as well as opponents' batters etc.
In my days of playing the wk was the first one consulted by the captain in a number of areas including field placings in
specific circumstances. Hope Imlach continues to prosper before and behind the stumps.

Chase as captain was a no brainer to me but the VC ? Gotta figure that one out but I ain't got the time or inclination to do
so seeing this is about Waste Indies lol

i think that experience has shown that a WI vice captain has a very short shelf life. Motie will be back soon! Motie's career has been adversely affected by that nonsense that happened last year resulting in his missing the Bangla tour. His bowling has not recovered since and Warrican and Pierre both comfortably outbowled him in the FC season and Warrican outbowled him in Pakistan. His main value is that he can contribute some runs in the lower order. WI, however, should generally play 3 pacers so the spinner will need to float with one of the batsmen. On current form, the three middle order batsmen should be Josh, Greaves and Imlach but as none of them is a natural No. 3 (apart from Imlach who probably cannot keep and bat at #3) then we need the fourth batsman who will probably be Hodge at least in the first test. That leaves Motie out in the cold for now.

At what position will Chase bat....before or after the wicket keeper

If Da Silver is brought back as keeper .

I see a number of selection issues with WI iffy batting ...and it's not like our spinners are Shane Warn like bowler or even Mulie

Direct dem questions to the savior...

But most likely Chase will be the #4... with world class numbers. Looks like we moving aways from the worst opener in test cricket to the worst #4... CWI are trendsetters lol

Quite a few things...his calm demeanor, never seem overawed and always
in the game are some of the qualities I have seen on the field.
His ability to bat, bowl and field are not to be discounted either and he
can basically bat anywhere in the middle or could when he was at his best.

And I am plugging for him to do well as a leader.
He is one of the main reasons why I will watch the more cricket against the Aussies if I can.

chase batting average is abysmal but is still better than louis, athanaze, carty, hodge dasilva and greaves but i still don't agree with his captaincy selection nor warrican.

Stunning decision to me

The Cawmere mafia is powerful. Would not be surprised if this was a parting gift to his buddy Braff. But pretty crazy decision for so many reasons:
- He is not an established team member. He was great against Pakistan but he cant walk around with that pitch
- He completes directly with Motie whose red ball bowling has gone off the boil but who is a better batsman and younger
- He has not ever captained any senior team that I am aware of
- As a specialist spin bowler with little batting ability he should not be assured of a play especially when his captain is as good a spinner as him on a flat wicket. Are we going to drop a decent fast bowler for him?

Madness

Totally agree with Chase for now but Imalch should have been VC. As none of the youngsters have establish themselves in the test team adding the pressure of captaincy might be a bit much. Jangoo looks like he have the temperament for the #3 position. He also have the shots to get the ball away when he is on.

Kevlon Anderson will force his way onto the WI team shortly. He seems better prepared mentally than most that have been tried already. Figure he will make the A Team but think he will get a senior call quickly. Same goes for Layne as he is getting stronger and faster each game. From U19 days you could see him thinking the game now his body is catching up.

Actually, I do share Hubert’s opinion regarding Chase as the best “leader” at this moment , however his performance has been below par with both bat and ball.

Being out of the Test team for a bit seems to have give Chase the chance to work on his allround game. In the shorter versions, initially he was not even considered. Now though, the work he have put in made him an important option. Even the few regional 4-day games has seen his scoring become much more aggressive compared to how he batted earlier in his career. Think they needed an old head somewhere in there. Campbell would have been my next choice but he have not played any international cricket at all for a few years.
