21 Trinis to be deported from US

TWENTY-ONE Trinidad and Tobago nationals currently in the custody of United States immigration are scheduled to be deported to this country on Friday on a charter flight, the Ministry of Homeland Security disclosed yesterday.This follows the deportation on March 28 of 11 T&T nationals, ten men and one woman, from the United States by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander told the Sunday Express yesterday that the deportees will be interviewed upon arrival in Trinidad and Tobago, in coordination with the Attorney General, to ensure accurate records are kept on them.

On charter flight this Friday...Prior to Alexander speaking to the Express, the Ministry of Homeland Security issued a media release stating that the ministry and the Government of T&T, “acknowledges a formal request from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, regarding the repatriation of 21 Trinidad and Tobago nationals currently in the custody of US immigration authorities”.ICE deported 11,000 migrants in February, and just over 12,300 in the first four weeks of March.

The Trinidad and Tobago group comprises 17 males and four females.
