This age pre-requisite is ridiculous. If the test championship cycle is 2 years why does it matter if you are 34 and 36?

I am with you on this one. Was just thinking who are the top 5 bat's and bowlers of the just concluded championship. They should be the 10 plus the wicketkeeper who would have been my cappo.

In reply to natty_forever I do not think we are in a position at this time to be discarding players once they pass 32.

I agree. The WTC is not about building careers of 100 Tests. It is about winning Test Matches regardless of the configuration. If a 50 year old spinner gives you an advantage, pick them. The traditional methods go out the door! Horses for courses.

What’s the reason for you not mentioning the # 2 in runs?

Hamilton had 1 Test match at the top level so quit talking nonsense. We are playing towards a Test championship that has a 2 year window so yes senior players could still be considered. Kieran Powell said Hamilton is the best glovesman in the region! You all going on as if we have 40+ ave batsmen lining up to bat!

As a selector, I would leave Hamilton in the senior home.
His PBD is long gone.

It's funny that those not selected are always the best options. Basically you can put the names in a hat and play who comes up.
