The Independent Voice of West Indies Cricket

Kirk McKenzie led the batting average against Australia

In the last tour of Australia, Kirk McKenzie led the batting average among West Indies batsmen and it would seem improbably for a West Indies squad to be selected against Australia without our best batsman against the Australian bowlers.

not to mention that Kirk was only the least bad of an awful lot in Australia. the man did not have any noteworthy performances and has had none since. I am not against the youth but he was sent to the test team when was not prepared and then sent to the Jamaica set up where he is not flourishing. He seems to be a prime example of the Peter Principle.

I don’t think too many people are even considering him at this point in time. He’s a good player but needs to go back to the regionals and put up some strong performances

Again the man dominated the batting against Australia, one of the best teams in the world and you are talking about our lowly regional tournament, many regional bullies cannot buy a run in test cricket.

What the point of picking a tour from 2 years back?

He’s played tests subsequently; post those stats.

His career average is 16

He couldn’t bug a run since a fifty and a 41 almost two years back

Also why do you think no one else is really making a case for him, except you?

Pause for. Moment and think. He makes our 20-something batsmen look bradman-esque

I think it is the other way around - the 20 something batsmen makes HIM look Bradman-esque
