There is no dignified or respectful reason for CWI to continue existing. The cricket is disgraceful and reductive of Caribbean manhood. This painful torture must come to an end. There is no hope on the horizon.
When Lloyd, Richards and others responded to the disrespect and dismissiveness of the Caribbean sides it was - by extension - a call to arms for the identity of burgeoning classes forging a political identity in the Caribbean. The decades long dominance spoke to our essential character. In the absence of a consensus on a 'cause celebre' we are being tortured through this weak ghost of our true self. I submit that a well coached first class team from Guyana, Barbados or even T&T can win most matches against any of the other 96 teams with associate status. Nothing about CWI engenders hope. The lack of intelligence or articulable vision is disgraceful. Most of our uniquely talented players are left to wither on the vine or reject proper stroke-making to become hired sluggers to the highest bidders.
CWI must be totally disbanded and our individual countries must be allowed to develop their players away from the self seeking visionless dunces allowed to stay in their positions by the ICC.
