Joshua Little to Shai Hope, FOUR, wrong line and Little is made to pay. Leg-lined delivery, Hope leans forward and clips it through the vacant mid-wicket region. The timing takes the ball to the fence
12.1
Thomas Mayes to Shai Hope, FOUR, lovely shot! Fullish delivery outside off, Hope leans across and drives it through extra cover. It just seemed a push but the timing beats the chasing mid-off fielder
12.2
Thomas Mayes to Shai Hope, 2 runs, too straight - on middle and leg, Hope flicks it through mid-wicket and collects a brace

Hmmmm...I don't know. Surprising decision by Stirling to have a bowl. I would have thought bat first when conditions are better for batting. Time will tell.

Andy McBrine to Keacy Carty, FOUR, and thwacked for a four. Was a tossed up delivery, outside off, Keacy Carty gets under it and lofts it over cover for a four. That was hit over the infield. All of a sudden showed intent of taking on the bowler and did so with elan
19.1
Liam McCarthy to Keacy Carty, FOUR, drops his wrists and guides the ball down for a four. Back of a length delivery, outside off, rose up and Keacy Carty guided the ball down fine to easily beat the man at deep third man. Fifty of the partnership comes up for the duo
19.5
Liam McCarthy to Keacy Carty, SIX, short ball and hammered. Keacy Carty is shifting gears now. Was a short ball, outside off, Keacy Carty fetched the friendly short ball and climbed on to it. The ball seemed to have landed on the cushion at the deep mid region. The third umpire is having a look. Might have hit the cushion on the volley it seems. Too tough for the third umpire. Repeated angles being shown

20.1
Andy McBrine to Shai Hope, SIX, straight down the ground for a sixer. Shai Hope doesn't want to be left behind. Chipped down the track, got to the pitch of the ball and lofted it over long-on. Massive hit indeed by the batter
21.2
Dockrell to Shai Hope, FOUR, tossed up delivery, wide outside off, Shai Hope drives and times it so well. The man at sweeper cover was late to chase that and in the end even a dive didn't help

Liam McCarthy to Shai Hope, FOUR, just lands short of the deep mid fence. Was a short ball,

Liam McCarthy to Shai Hope, out Caught by Tucker!! And gone. Out for 49. Looking to guide one outside off and gets a little edge to walk back into the hut. Massive strike. Maiden ODI wicket for Liam McCarthy. Was a short of length delivery, barely any footwork from the batter and he pushed at it to edge it to the keeper

McCarthy to Keacy Carty, SIX, backs away and thumps it over wide cover. That was a short ball, Keacy Carty backed away and slapped it. More like a forehand slap. He was on the back foot and managed to extend his arms on that shot. Massive blow and Keacy Carty has decided to take on the short ball

187/3 after 33.
200 required...17 overs.....
In reply to voiceofreason
The good thing here is that the detractors can't claim that Carty is beating up on minnows, because those were the guys that put a cut-arse on us just two days ago.
Jangoo gawn
187/4
Very poor from Jangoo, throws his wicket away with a shocking slash first ball after drinks. Gone for 13, West Indies 187/4. Carty remains 85*
In reply to Drapsey
This.
That’s such a poor shot by Jangoo
Dumb dismissal at that time of the match
Arguably the shot of the day thus far from Keacy Carrty, driving confidently through the off side for a boundary. He moves to 89...
Into di 90 and another fourrrrrrr
200 up
Carty hooks and drives for consecutive boundaries...West Indies move to 202/4 and Carty to 98*
Big tom dat Carty
Looking good - bat on
33.1
Dockrell to Jangoo, out Caught by Stirling!! Taken by the man at short third man. Was a tossed up delivery, outside off, Jangoo looked to go big and got a thick outer-edge and the ball flew down to the fielder on the off-side. The break has helped Ireland. Jangoo wanted to the first big shot in this innings and has paid the price for it. Dockrell introduced and produces the wicket.

35.4
Dockrell to Keacy Carty, 2 runs, that's the hundred! Second ODI ton. The Windies camp is up and applauding. He has been classy. He has taken on the bowling and that has helped Windies to score quickly. Was a tossed up delivery, driven wide of long-off and they took on the arm of the fielder to take the double
Keacy Carty *100[105
As soon as Hope was dismissed, Carty took over and that has been impressive.

BEST CARTY INNINGS I HAVE SEEN
Just got back home to see Carty get his century! Well played sir!!!!!!
36.2
Liam McCarthy to Justin Greaves, FOUR, and gets it wide of the man at mid-on for a four.
And he gives it away.
Good ton
Wild slash and Carty goes...WI now five down for 213...Carty out for 102.
Reckless and not really necessary, with so many overs remaining (13), nevertheless, a fine innings.
36.4
Liam McCarthy to Keacy Carty, out Caught by Tucker!! One shot too many from Keacy Carty. Was a back of a length delivery, not much room on it and Keacy Carty backed away to thwack it but ended up edging it to the keeper.
Keacy Carty c Tucker b Liam McCarthy 102(109) [4s-13 6s-1]

Fans have no problems with ODI batting of players like Hope, Carty, etc., we are concerned about their poor Test batting performances but they are excellent ODI batsmen, that was never in doubt by fans on the boards.
We need 330+ to be competitive.
222/5 from 39

Need to pick up this run rate
We need at least 90 more runs
Good catch - Chase gawn
Dem playing Bob - Buffalo Solja
246/6
246/6, how much more can we get?
Six fo Forde - 250 up
43.1
McCarthy to Roston Chase, out Caught by Stirling!! McCarthy comes back and strikes with his first ball. This is a massive moment as the partnership was starting to gain momentum but McCarthy breaks it. Low full toss around off, Chase shuffles across and bends low to play the scoop, does not get the elevation to clear short fine and Stirling takes a good catch over his head.
Roston Chase c Stirling b McCarthy 24(25) [4s-2]
Finally some power hitting
Need to still use your head tho, Matt !
43.4
McCarthy to Forde, SIX, wow! That's some strike off your second ball. Length delivery outside off, Forde had the width to free his hands and he does not hold back, smashes the lofted drive over the extra cover region and sends it sailing all the way,
WI 254/6 (44) CRR: 5.77

What is Ford doing ?
Stay still and bat
Like that ........ 6666
44.3
Joshua Little to Forde, SIX, massive! Forde is not wasting about. He gets under this length delivery and pumps it down the ground. Picks the long-on region and sends it sailing into the trees
SHOT from Forde, top shot!!!!!
44.5
Joshua Little to Forde, SIX, no ball, SIX, third six for Forde. Short of length delivery and he picks bones out of that, gets into a nice position and nails the pull towards deep square leg. Little has overstepped. Free-hit coming up
44.5
Joshua Little to Forde, SIX, six more. This is turning into more than a cameo now. Little goes short of length again and Forde is waiting for it, he hangs back and hammers the pull into the cow corner region
44.6
Joshua Little to Forde, SIX, fifth six for Forde and fourth in this over. Little taken to the cleaners. This is a length delivery and Forde lofts through the line. He gets it nowhere close to the middle but the ball still manages to just drop beyond the long-off fence
Forde lucking ball

Yep/...300 plus now
45.3
Thomas Mayes to Forde, SIX, better connection on the scoop and it goes the distance. This was the slower ball outside off, Forde moves across, bends low and scoops it to fine leg. He did really well to generate so much power on the shot
50 partnership from 17

46.2
Liam McCarthy to Forde, no ball, SIX, 300 up for West Indies. They still have 22 balls. Juicy full toss and Forde is not missing out in this kind of form, he smacks it down the ground and sends another ball into the trees
And Forde ties the world fastest 50 record from 16
46.2
Liam McCarthy to Forde, SIX, jointest ODI fifty.AB de Villiers had got it off 16 balls and now Forde has one off 16 balls. This has been absolute carnage. 52 out of his 54 runs have come in fours and sixes. Another full toss outside off, Forde slices it in front of square and clears the deep extra cover fence with ease. He raises his bat and acknowledges the applause of his team mates
In reply to Chrissy
THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!! Equals ABs record!!!!
46.3
Liam McCarthy to Forde, FOUR, to fine leg
That was so good....
Congrats Matthew Forde
Equals AB's record of fast 50
46.5
Liam McCarthy to Forde, out Bowled!! Cleaned up! A record equalling knock comes to an end. He walks off to a standing ovation. He has completely changed the complexion of the game with his innings. Very full delivery from McCarthy, Forde shuffles across and gets himself into a tangle, the ball sneaks through between his legs and flattens the leg-stump.
Forde b Liam McCarthy 58(19) [4s-2 6s-8]
Well played innings from Forde. We need to go on and win this match!
350 should be the target !
Fireworks are needed from Motie now to get to 350.

Not great news. It is still raining and the pitch is under covers. More covers are coming on now.. "It is not heavy. But it is coming down. Enough to prevent the start," says the on air comm. Hope it passes soon and we get underway. For now the chase is delayed..
So, the single Yardie, Brandon King, is the only one to score in the single digits.
Rain
Will be raining for another 2 hours at least. Don't know when the cut off is but if they can't get going 6-6:30pm they'll probably call it.
Yep.. that call by Stirling at the toss - total brainfart
In reply to Drapsey
How comes you never mentioned his name during the numerous times when he tops the batting?? Just be thankful that WI scored some runs, we know that they are all very inconsistent, so relax and enjoy today!!
This is the reason why that poor showing by the wi in the first match was so bad.if this match gets rained out and the rain interferes in the third. ireland wins the series
We were warned about rain early on the thread
It's washout...Sad
Forecast for Sunday is actually looking a little bit better. I'll keep you guys posted
In reply to LBW375
Glad a West Indian broke it because AB's was against WI when he slaughtered Holder
In reply to Slipfeeler
Yuh swallow the bait??? Drapsey is as BLACK, GREEN n GOLD as any a Yardie you can find!!
The covers are firmly put. The drizzle is on. The wait is on. Grab some coffee. Put your feet up and relax.
In reply to Eireannach
You live in Dublin?
In reply to Eireannach
He made the call thinking the rain would fall, the match would be interrupted and they would have a favorable chase. Normal approach by captains. Just did not think WI would make 350+ and rain would washout the proceedings.

It is looking much brighter indeed compared to the gloom we have had in the last couple of hours. It is still overcast though which makes it a little disconcerting. But we will see the glass half full rather than half empty. And hopefully will have some positive news very soon.
