Keep an eye on this youngster Vicky Mboko as one for the future. She breezed through the qualifiers and moved to the second rounds without losing a set.

Gauff had some nice things to say about her game after their 3-setter in Rome.

Yes, he did!

Among those advancing were Mpetshi Perricault, Shelton and Paolini, but Osaka went out in a difficult first round match against 10th seed Badosa.

Swiatek, Alcaraz, and Tsitsipas also advanced to the second round.

Monfils came from two sets down to beat his Bolivian opponent. The reverse happened to Felix AA, who won the first two sets, but then lost to his Italian opponent.

Gauff, Djokovic, and Zverev also advanced to the second round, but Jabeur and Medvedev went out.

Alicia Parks looked very good in putting out former champ and 14th seed Muchova.

Swiatek crushed Raducanu for the loss of only three games. Mpetshi Perricard lost in four sets to his Bosnian opponent.

There was a massive upset yesterday as French wild card Boisson knocked third seed Pegula out to reach the quarter-finals....

In an all-American fourth round clash, Keys beat Baptiste in straight sets.

Also advancing to the quarter finals were Gauff, Andreeva, Zverev, Bublik, Sinner and Djokovic.

What an upset run by Boisson!

Gauff beat Keys in straight sets to reach the semi-finals. Djokovic beat Zverev in four sets, while Sinner won his quarter final easily.

In the semi-finals, Gauff crushed French wild card wonder Boisson at one and two, while Sabalenka outlasted Swiatek in three sets to knock out the Queen of Clay.

It's Sabalenka vs Gauff in Saturday's final.

Meanwhile, the Italian pair of Errani and Vavassori beat Townsend and King in the mixed doubles final.
